Ricky Ponting accidentally leaks details about Glenn Maxwell's replacement
Punjab Kings head coach Ricky Ponting shared his take on the replacement for Glenn Maxwell in the playoffs of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He said that they will not name any immediate replacements but admitted that there aren't good players because of PSL.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) faced a massive blow amid the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Glenn Maxwell is under massive radar and might miss the remainder of the season due to the finger injury that he sustained recently ahead of the Kolkata Knight Riders clash.
At the toss of Chennai Super Kings clash, Shreyas Iyer at the toss all but confirmed that Glenn Maxwell has been ruled out of the league. He suffered a finger injury during the training session of the game against Kolkata Knight Riders, and the scans didn't come out well, ruling him out of the tournament.
We will be signing some replacements at some stage - RIcky Ponting on Glenn Maxwell's replacement
While talking about Glenn Maxwell's replacement, Ricky Ponting said that they will be signing a replacement at some stage. He said that they are trying to find players in the squad with most bases covered. Speaking about the same, he said:
"We will be signing some replacements at some stage," Ponting said. "We've got until our 12th game, so we have a couple of games to go yet. With the squad we've got, we're trying to find players in our squad anyway, we've got most basis covered.
"So we've actually been a little bit patient. Maxi's only been a couple of days, Lockie's has been two or three weeks. And with the PSL happening at the same time, there's not a lot of high-quality replacements out there, to be honest."
It remains to be seen if Glenn Maxwell will be replaced by the Punjab Kings management or not.
