Vivo IPL 2021: Rishabh Pant has improved in the last 4 months says, Brian Lara.
Vivo IPL 2021: Former West Indies cricketer, Brain Lara believes that Rishabh Pant has improved a lot in the past couple of months and will do a good job for Delhi Capitals (DC) in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.
The young wicketkeeping batsman Rishabh Pant was handed the captaincy of Delhi Capitals (DC) after their regular skipper Shreyas Iyer sustained a shoulder injury due to which he had to miss out on the complete IPL season.
“Around 6 months of international cricket for him (Pant) one against Australia and here against England. Now he (Pant) is responsible for the captaincy because of injury,” said Brian Lara Star Sports’ Select Dugout show.
The 23-years old cricketer is in sublime form lately and has emerged as the match-winner for India in the last two tours of Australia and England.
“Plus, he doesn’t have the services of (Anrich) Nortje, (Kagiso) Rabada, and Axar Patel. So, they are asking a lot of him.
“I think he has got a team that will support him which is most important. He has grown in the last 4 months and I think he will do a good job.”
South African pacer Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada are in quarantine period and Delhi Capitals have missed the services of both the premier pacer but the team did well in the first game against Chennai Super Kings in Wankhede Stadium.
Pant took DC to its first win in IPL 2021 in the very first game against the likes of MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and other senior players.
Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals (DC) will face Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan ROyals (RR) today in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
