Rishabh Pant penalised with INR 12 Lakhs fine for slow over-rate during DCvsLSG match: Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant has been slapped with a fine of INR 12 Lakhs for maintaining a slow over-rate during his side’s last night’s fixture against LSG. Reportedly, Delhi Capitals crossed the time barrier and couldn’t complete their innings within the given time frame which prompted the official to penalise the skipper.

To make things even worse, Rishabh Pant and Co registered their second loss of the tournament as they couldn’t restrict Lucknow Super Giants scoring 150 runs in 20 overs.

Now Rishabh Pant has joined hands with Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Kane Williamson, who have also been fined for the same offence earlier in the ongoing Indian Premier League season.

“The Delhi Capitals have been fined after they maintained a slow over-rate during their TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match against Lucknow Super Giants at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai on April 7,” said IPL in a media release.

The punishment will get harsh if the offences are committed repeatedly and even lead to a one-match ban.

“As it was the team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offences, Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant was fined Rs 12 lakhs.”

Delhi continues to struggle despite Warner, Nortje’s availability:

Delhi Capitals continued their poor runs even though they had the services of David Warner and Anrich Nortje in the match against Lucknow Super Giants. Both the players had an unforgettable outing against LSG.

While David Warner couldn’t score much for his team, Anrich Nortje was banned from bowling his complete quota of 4 overs after he delivered two waist-high no balls to the batter. Nortje was taken off the attack following his two dangerous beamers.

Barring Prithvi Shaw, no other DC batter looked comfortable taking on the bowlers. Shaw 34 balls 61 to take Delhi off to a flying start. However, as soon as his wicket fell, things were brought back in control by the Lucknow bowlers. KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) sealed the game by 6 wickets.

Delhi Capitals will play its next match against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 10 in the Brabourne Stadium while Lucknow will face Rajasthan Royals in Wankhede Stadium on April 10.
