Rishabh Pant to donate all his match fee to the Uttarakhand rescue operations.

Team India’s dashing wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has pledged to donate all his match fee towards the rescue operation in Uttarakhand. The recent glacier outburst caused a massive flood in some areas of Uttarakhand.

Due to glacier burst at Joshimath in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand on Sunday, that leads to the increase in the water flow in Dhauli Ganga river. The flood caused large scale devastation in the region.

Rishabh Pant’s roots belong to India, he was born in Roorkee, a town in Haridwar district in Uttarakhand.

“Deeply pained by the loss of life in Uttarakhand. Would like to donate my match fee for the rescue efforts and would urge more people to help out,” Pant wrote on his Twitter handle.

Earlier, on Sunday the left-handed batsman showed his grief over the destruction.

“My sincere condolences and prayers for the families of those affected by the Uttarakhand flash floods. I hope that the rescue operations underway are able to help those in trouble,” he had written.

Pant also urged others to support the families and the rescue operations by doing their part in whatever way possible. 

In the second inning of the first India-England Test, Pant scored a firing 91 to put India to a comfortable position after the top order failed.

The officials from Uttarakhand has informed that over 150 labourers who were working in that area are missing and the search operation is undergoing.

All the need for the basic amenities and medical facilities will be provided by the government of the state. In addition, a compensation of 4 Lakhs will be provided to the families of the people who have lost their lives.
