Rohit Sharma has a fear of facing quality fast bowlers. That's what Australian legend Glenn McGrath feels. Rohit has been under questions with his form, as he has scored only one fifty in the last six tests he has played, which includes nine single-digit scores. He batted at no. 5 in the second test in Adelaide, but it also didn't help him.
Rohit registered the scores of 3 and 6 in two innings of the day-night test, and India lost the match badly by ten wickets. The third test between the two teams started on Saturday at the Gabba in Brisbane. India won the toss and decided to bowl first under overhead conditions.
The first day was washed out, and only 13.2 overs were bowled. After the day was called off, McGrath came up with a controversial statement and said Rohit decided to bowl because he was afraid of facing Australian bowlers.

The thing is if you bowl first and it goes pear-shaped, that looks really bad in the media, whereas if you bat first and it goes poorly, it is a ‘gutsy decision to bat first."
However, when the playing XI was announced, it hinted that Rohit will be batting at no. 5 and Rahul will continue as opener along with Yashasvi Jaiswal. India made two changes to their playing XI from the last game. They dropped Harshit Rana and Ravichandran Ashwin and brought back Ravindra Jadeja and Akashdeep. At the stumps on Day 1, Australia were 28/0 in 13.2 overs. The match will start early on Day 2 at 5:20 AM IST.

As concerns over India's pace bowling unit continue in the 2024 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, veteran Mohammed Shami's inclusion in the squad has not been finalised yet. Active talks are going for making the pacer play in the final two Test-Matches of the five-match series. 
But, the BCCI is not fully confident about the fitness levels of the 34-year-old seamer. When asked whether there are any chances of Shami getting recalled to the Indian squad for the remaining contests versus Australia, Rohit Sharma didn't specify whether the player would join the squad or not. 
The Indian skipper's response was simply that all doors open for Shami to make his much-awaited return to the National setup. The demand for the 34-year-old's inclusion in the squad came after the Men in Blue's poor performance in the Adelaide Pink-Ball Test-Match.

In what has been the latest development as per the reports in Sports Tak, it is learned that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has accepted the Hybrid model for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The global body has accepted the demands of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to play the tournament in the two-nation formula. 
It is learned that India games will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Along with this, one semi-final and final will be played in a Gulf country, while the rest of the games are all set to take place in Pakistan, which is the host of the tournament. 
To accept the hybrid model for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has kept a few demands, with the major one being they wanted all the ICC tournaments to be played in a Hybrid model till the next cycle as they claimed that they won't travel to India if they cannot visit Pakistan.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also demanded an extra share in the revenue. However, the ICC won't be giving them compensation, but they will be given to host the ICC Women's tournament after 2027, as per the reports by the Journalist Vikrant Gupta. 
BCCI and PCB were involved in a massive tussle over the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Indian team didn't agree to visit Pakistan for the tournament, but the PCB, too, didn't agree to host the event outside Pakistan and were pretty strong on their stance. 
However, ICC acted as a mediator and proposed PCB as the hybrid model. The governing body kept some demands. Although BCCI took some time to accept, they finally agreed, and now the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to be played in a Hybrid model. 
With the decision related to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 reaching a conclusion, it is expected that the schedule of the tournament will be announced soon.
