Rohit Sharma creates history; Becomes first ever cricketer to achieve his massive feat in ODIs

Indian captain Rohit Sharma achieved a massive feat in ODI cricket after his magnificent run of form in the 50-over format in 2023. With that, he became the only player to score 1000+ runs in wins in ODI Cricket in 4 Calander years. 

Rohit Sharma was at his exceptional best during the ODIs in 2023. He brought a new template into the team and played the attacking brand of cricket. The captain’s approach at the top was one of the main reasons why the team was extremely successful in the games they played. 

Rohit Sharma was amongst the leading run-getters in ODIs this year as in 27 games he scored 1255 runs at an average of 52.29. Apart from this he also had a strike rate of around 117. The Indian captain also smashed two centuries and 9 half-centuries this year with a best of 131.

Rohit Sharma was one of the main reasons behind India’s success in the ICC World Cup 2023. He amassed 597 runs in 11 innings. He had an exceptional average of 54.27 and a strike rate of 125.94. The Indian captain also scored one century and three half-centuries. 

With his impressive run in the World Cup, he became the only player to score 1000+ runs in wins in ODI Cricket in 4 Calander years. Here’s Rohit Sharma’s tally of winning runs since the last few years:

Indian captain Rohit Sharma will now be seen in action during the Test series against South Africa. He will be captaining the team in the two-match series, starting 26th December. It’ll be for the first time he will be playing the same since the ICC World Cup 2023. The Opening batter will have to play a crucial role if India has to fancy their chances of winning the Test series.
