Rohit Sharma officially confirms till when he will play cricket
India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma has dropped a massive statement about his future. He openly mentioned that he has a desire to play in the ICC World Cup 2027, and it would be great if he could add this Trophy to his cabinet.
India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma shocked the entire cricket fraternity when through the social media post, he announced his retirement from Test cricket. This comes as a surprise because he recently expressed his desire to play the Test series against England.
Rohit Sharma, who recently retired from the T20Is, now will be playing for India only in ODIs. However, this now has raised speculations about when he can play for the India National Cricket Team in the format and lead the team, especially after guiding them to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Zehem mein bilkul hai - Rohit Sharma on playing ODI World Cup 2027
During an interview with senior Journalist Vimal Kumar, Rohit Sharma was asked if he wanted to play in the ICC World Cup 2027. Replying to this, he wants to play the tournament and it would be great if he adds Trophy to this cabinet. He said:
"Zehem mein bilkul hai (on playing ODI World Cup 2027). Bilkul [It’s definitely on my mind. Absolutely]," Rohit said.
"Acha rahega agar aisa hua to (on adding the ODI World Cup to his cabinet) [It would be great if that happens]," he added.
Rohit Sharma has been sensational as a batter in the ODI cricket. The right-hander played a brilliant innings with the bat in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as he scored 75 runs and helped his team lift the title by beating the New Zealand National Cricket Team in the final.
Rohit Sharma retired from Test cricket with 4,301 runs at an average of 40.57. He also slammed 18 half-centuries and 12 hundreds.
