Rohit Sharma overtakes Virat Kohli, completes two records during INDvWI 1st T20I: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma continued his purple patch as the leader of the Indian side as he registered a comprehensive 68 runs victory against West Indies in the 1st T20I at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad. With the win, India climbs up in the three-match series by 1-0.
Sharma played a crucial knock while batting first against the Windies. He scored 64 runs from 44 deliveries on the surface where shot-making wasn’t easy. He kept his momentum running and scored a half-century with the help of seven boundaries and two glorious maximums.
Meanwhile, the Indian skipper also claimed two big records in the shortest format of cricket. Sharma reclaimed his crown of the highest run-getter in the Men’s T20I surpassing Martin Guptil, who was just 20 runs ahead of him.
