Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill score 100 each in Indore between India vs New Zealand 3rd ODI: Team India skipper Rohit Sharma and his opening partner Shubman Gill have scored 100 each in the ongoing third One Day International (ODI) in Indore between India and New Zealand. Both the Indian openers have looked in tremendous touch as they amassed 212 runs before the first dismissal during the INDvNZ 3rd ODI.
Rohit Sharma, who was itching to reach a century for a long time, slammed an 83-ball 100 and brought up his 30th ODI century for team India. He pulled a delivery to deep square leg for a single to reach his ton in 83 balls against New Zealand.
Interestingly, Rohit struck his first-century knock in 50-over cricket after a long hiatus of three years. His 29th ODI ton came against Australia in Bengaluru back on 19th January 2020.
However, the Indian captain soon departed after scoring a century. He was dismissed by off-spinner Michael Bracewell as Rohit decided to slog and accelerate the innings further. He departed after scoring 101 in 85 balls with the help of nine fours and six maximums.
At the other end, young Shubman Gill also continued his excellent form as he mustered yet another 100-plus score against New Zealand in the ongoing three-match ODI series. Gill has now three ODI tons in his last four innings.
Gill, who has scored 208 and an unbeaten 40 in the previous two games of the three-match series, amassed 112 runs in 78 deliveries. The right-handed batter took the help of 13 fours and 5 sixes to reach 112 run score in Indore.
Meanwhile, Shubman Gill also equalled the record of Babar Azam for scoring the most runs in a three-match ODI series. Both Gill and Babar have racked up 360 runs in three innings.

Indore’s Holkar Stadium is yet again proving to be a belter of surface for the batters. With short boundaries on all four corners of the sphere, it’s going to be a run-fest today between India and New Zealand.
As of now, team India’s total stands at 247 runs in the loss of two wickets in 31 overs. Opener Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are the highest contributors to the total so far with 101 and 112 scores respectively.
