It is learned that if India loses the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, then Rohit Sharma will be playing till December to announce his ODI retirement. After the ongoing tournament, India is scheduled to play against Bangladesh and Australia away from home before playing South Africa at home.
The series against South Africa could be his last. The reports claimed that Rohit Sharma deliberately didn’t come out to attend the press conference as he wanted to avoid the questions related to his retirement. Hence, vice-captain Shubman Gill walked out but mentioned that there hadn't been any discussions in the dressing room about his retirement.
If Rohit Sharma wins the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as a skipper, he will become only the second captain after MS Dhoni to win both the T20 World Cup as well as the Champions Trophy. The senior opener would be keen to lead from the front and take his team to glory.
Rohit Sharma hasn't fired yet with the bat in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The batter has provided his team with the starts in the tournament but hasn't been able to convert the starts that he has had. With the title on the line, he would be keen to bring his best with the bat.
