Rajasthan Royals skipper Riyan Parag didn't have a great game against Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The 6th game of the tournament was hosted by the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.

Riyan Parag, who has been appointed as the Rajasthan Royals for three games, lost the second game on the trot as the captain. Under his leadership, Rajasthan Royals went on to lose the match against Kolkata Knight Riders. The Ajinkya Rahane-led side emerged winners by the margin of 8 wickets to their first win.

Riyan Parag didn't have a great outing with the bat and ball. The Rajasthan Royals all-rounder scored just 25 runs off 15 balls with the help of three sixes. He had a start but couldn't carry on as Varun Chakravarthy had his number in the game.

Riyan Parag then also had a poor outing with the ball. The stand-in skipper of Rajasthan Royals bowled 4 overs in the game but failed to take a single wicket. The all-rounder gave away 25 runs in his spell and had an economy of over 6.

While his performance wasn't up to the mark, Riyan Parag had a moment to cherish. While he was bowling, a fan came in running from the stands and touched the feet of Rajasthan Royals stand-in skipper and then hugged him in a heartwarming gesture.

170 was going to be a really good score, that's what we were aiming for - Riyan Parag

Riyan Parag addressed the defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders, saying that they aimed to score 170. He admitted that he had a rush of blood and ended up giving his wicket. Speaking after the game, he explained:

"170 was going to be a really good score, that's what we were aiming for. I personally rushed a little bit knowing the wicket here. Fell short by 20 runs. That was the plan, to get Quinny out early, but that didn't happen. So, we shifted to containing in the middle overs."
