RR vs LSG: 14-Year-Old’s Heroics Not Enough as Royals Fall Short Against Lucknow Super Giants! IPL 2025 Match 36

The iconic Sawai Mansingh Stadium witnessed a nerve-wracking IPL 2025 showdown between the Rajasthan Royals and the Lucknow Super Giants that went right down to the wire. In a match that had everything, explosive batting, tense moments, and a sensational debut, it was the Lucknow Super Giants who held their nerve to clinch a thrilling 2-run victory.

But amid all the chaos and high-octane drama, a 14-year-old prodigy from Bihar, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, lit up the evening with a jaw-dropping six off the very first ball he faced in the IPL. Though his dream debut was cut short by Rishabh Pant’s lightning-fast stumping, the young sensation had already left his mark on the big stage.

RR vs LSG Match Report

Skipper Rishabh Pant won the flip of the coin and favored his team to bat first. The batting of Lucknow Super Giants mostly depends on the top three, i.e., Marsh, Markram, and Pooran. They need at least two of them to fire, or the team won't be posting above par! Yeah, big statement, but it's a bitter truth! Rajasthan Royals were successful in removing Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran before they could do any damage.

Rishabh Pant, the skipper of Lucknow Super Giants and the most expensive player in IPL history, hasn't come to his true colours. His scores in IPL 2025 are 0, 15, 2, 2, 21, 63, and 3 today. He is surely struggling a lot currently. After his dismissal, Ayush Badoni and Aiden Markram stitched a much-needed partnership. They both drove LSG to 130 in 15 overs and soon, both lost their wickets.

However, that wasn't the end for LSG as Abdul Samad, the Kashmiri hard-hitting talent, smoked 30 runs from 10 balls and Lucknow reached a competitive score of 180.

In the chase, all eyes were on the 14-year-old boy from Bihar, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, and guess what, he smacked the very first ball he faced for a SIX! Pant's quick glove work removed the young boy at 34 runs off just 20 balls. Jaiswal from the other end kept punishing the bowlers, and he played a valiant knock of 74 runs with a strike rate of 142.

Riyan Parag played a handy knock of 39 runs, and Hetmyer's cameo of 12 took the game as close as 6 runs from 4 balls. Avesh Khan bowled four excellent balls and he defended those runs, and LUCKNOW SUPER GIANTS won the game by 2 runs against RAJASTHAN ROYALS!

Prince Yadav is another one to praise as he bowled with absolute control. He gave just 6 runs from his first over, and 11 from the penultimate over when Rajasthan Royals were cruising in hard.

Lucknow Super Giants go level on points with the table topper with this win. Rajasthan Royals have lost their fourth consecutive game, and that's all for the day!
