RSA vs IND: The Indian cricket team is gearing up for the first encounter of a three-match T20 series against South Africa scheduled to take place at the Durban Ground starting on December 10. The squad for this series features a mix of experienced and emerging players, with notable returnees like Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja.
Suryakumar Yadav has been entrusted with the captaincy for the T20 series against South Africa. Under his leadership in the recent 5-match T20i series at home, Team India secured a convincing 4-1 victory. SKY shared insights into the team’s strategy during a pre-match press conference, emphasizing the collective approach the team aims to adopt for success in the upcoming series.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Shubman Gill are the available openers of the Men in Blue for the T20 series against South Africa, and when Suryakumar Yadav was asked a question in the pre-series press conference regarding the possible opening pair for the first T20 match, he remained tight-lipped regarding the opening combo and was told that there are many options available and the decision regarding who will open the innings in the first match will be taken after the practice session is over.
Surya was also asked a question regarding the fast and bouncy pitches of South Africa, and the skipper said that “we are fully prepared to play on the fast pitches here. Everyone has played such cricket. The confidence of the players has increased due to the T20 series win against Australia. Hopefully, we will win the series against South Africa as well.”
The skipper also revealed what message he has given to Rinku Singh and Jitesh in the pre-series press conference, and he said that Rinku and Jitesh will bat in the same position in the batting order in which they bat for their state team and their IPL franchise, and we have asked them to continue doing the same thing for Team India as well.
“They have been doing the same thing in the T20I series against Australia. Whenever we were in trouble, they both showed character and played according to the demands of the team. I told them one thing:. Think of the team first, and then your personal milestones. Then, the situation will become easy,” he added.
