Australian opener David Warner shattered a massive record of great Sachin Tendulkar in the ODIs. The veteran batter now has the most number of centuries as an opener in the 50-over format. He has 46 hundreds to his name whereas Tendulkar had 45.
David Warner achieved the feat in the recently concluded second ODI against South Africa. The southpaw smashed a brilliant ton and helped his side win the game. He was under scanner for a while because of his poor form of late. But he regained his touch just ahead of the ICC World Cup 2023, which is a great sign.
David Warner looked in complete touch and played some crisp shots during his innings. The opening batter scored 106 runs off 93 balls. He batted with a strike rate of 113.98 and smashed 12 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. He gave Australia a fiery start and stitched 109 runs opening partnership with Travis Head.
