Cricket South Africa will be kicking off its much anticipated T20 league called SA20 this year in 2023 and the preparations for the same are on a high right now. The auction for the first edition of the tournament took place yesterday and as many as 314 players went under the hammer. The owners of the 6 teams picked up the best out of these players to fill in their ranks and from what we have seen in the auction so far, the fans should be ready for a jam-packed mega event when SA20 finally kicks off.
Just like everybody had expected, the owners did not hesitate to make big bids and the costliest bid turned out to be of a whopping 9.1 million Rands for South African youngster Tristan Stubbs. Stubbs has already taken the cricketing world by a surprise by bagging the insane amount in the auction but he is not alone. A lot of players were sold for very high prices in the auction and this tells us how much faith the owners have on the future of SA20.
