The SA20 League is underway. The tournament is the flagship event of the South African Cricket Association and is a desperate way for the association to escape from the financial drought. With that being said, the SA20 league has managed to attract many international players. The league is laden with international superstars. We have the likes of Jofra Archer, Liam Livingstone, and even Rashid Khan. Here is a look at the X-factor players from each team in the SA20 League:
Maheesh Teekshana will play for Joburg Super Kings in SA20 League:
Maheesh Teekshana will be seen in the bright yellow jersey of the Joburg Super Kings. He will be under his IPL coach Stephen Fleming. He also plays for the Chennai Super Kings, and both these franchises have the same owner. He is one of the best spinners across the globe. His mystery is what makes him so special. It has been over two years of international cricket for him and the batters are yet to negotiate with his mystery. He bowls 2 to 3 overs in the powerplay.
Liam Livingstone/Jofra Archer will play for MI Cape Town in the SA20 League:
Two of the biggest names in English cricket, Liam Livingstone and Jofra Archer will be playing for MI Cape Town. Maximum eyeballs will be on Jofra Archer who is making a comeback to professional cricket post 18 months and after undergoing surgery.
Jofra has also been picked by the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. If he plays in the SA20 League and the ECB allows him, he is certainly going to be a part of the IPL. Livingstone on the other hand is the best asset that any T20 team can have. He can bat, bowl leg spin, bowl off-spin, and is a gun fielder. His range-hitting abilities are his star point.
Jos Butler will play for the Paarl Royals in the SA20 League:
Jos Butler is playing for the Royal franchise in the SA20 League. He also plays for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. He is playing under the leadership of the very experienced David Miller. Butler and his skill need no introduction. Not many batters can manage to score 800+ runs in one IPL season. Jos flips the games in the favor of his team, just in a matter of a few overs. He is technically very sound and hence his game doesn’t involve many rash shots.
Phil Salt/Will Jacks will play for Pretoria Capitals:
Coming from the most experienced batters of England to the youth. Will Jacks and Phil Salt, both will be playing for the Pretoria Capitals? Phil Salt in fact, won them their first game of the tournament. He was elite when he scored 77 runs off 47 balls in the game against Sunrisers Eastern Cape. Phil is one of the most exciting prospects when it comes to sheer talent. His game involves fewer complexities and sheer technique. Will Jacks is the same and is more explosive. Both these players will be an asset in the top order.
Tristan Stubbs will play for Sunrisers Eastern Cape:
Tristan Stubbs was the most expensive player in the SA20 League auction. He is a big-match player. The teams have invested in the immense potential that he has. He hasn’t shown promise with his stats yet but if the word is to be believed, Stubbs is exceptional and can win games single-handedly. He was bought to the international scene by the Mumbai Indians and their scouting crew. Stubbs has a good game against spin and also plays the short ball very well.
