Sachin Tendulkar tested positive for Coronavirus, goes into home isolation

Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on Saturday tested positive for coronavirus as he shows mild symptoms of the destruction causing virus. Tendulkar himself informed his fans and well-wishers through his Twitter account.

?I have been testing myself and taking all the recommended precautions to ensure COVID is kept at bay. However, I have tested positive today following mild symptoms,? the 47-year-old wrote on his Twitter handle.

Tendulkar further clarified that all the other members of the family are safe and have tested negative.

?All others at home have tested negative. I have quarantined myself at home and I am following all the necessary protocols as advised by my doctors. I want to thank all the healthcare professionals who are supporting me and many others across the country. Take care all of you,? he further wrote in his official statement.

Sachin is one of the biggest names of India who has tested positive for the virus. 

A close source to the family told that the cricketer himself went for the test and the report was positive. He is in home isolation with all the safety protocols and after doctors advice.

In the last 24 hours, 62,291 positive cases have been recorded in the country with 36,000 cases coming alone from Maharashtra. The cases are on rise lately after the second wave has hit.

It is noteworthy that Sachin Tendulkar has recently took part in the Road Safety World Series 2021 and won it. Along with him, several other veteran cricketers were also part of the Series that aimed to raise awareness about Road safety etiquettes in India.

Besides India, England, South Africa, West Indies, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh were also the part of series.
