Sanjiv Goenka's reaction after Rishabh Pant's wicket against SRH almost confirms captain's future at LSG
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper Rishabh Pant had another poor outing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The keeper-batter bagged another low score in the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, which took place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Rishabh Pant promoted himself in the batting order and it seemed that he would return to form and play a vital hand for his team in the crucial game. However, that wasn't the case either, as despite walking out to bat at three, he failed, and his poor run of form continued.
Rishabh Pant got caught and bowled by Eshan Malinga as the pacer took a brilliant catch to send the batter packing. The keeper-batter was back in the hut after scoring just 7 runs off 6 balls as Lucknow Super Giants lost an important wicket in the match.
What caught the attention of many was the reaction of Sanjiv Goenka after Rishabh Pant got out. The Lucknow Super Giants owner, who was in the stands, walked away in anger. Notably, he paid 27 crore to acquire the services of batter.

Here's the post:
Coming to the match, Lucknow Super Giants were eliminated from the IPL 2025 after they faced a poor loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Pat Cummins-led side beat the opposition by six wickets at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Monday.
Asked to bat, LSG had a powerful to their innings as openers Aiden Markram (61) and Mitchell Marsh (65) went hard at the bowlers right from the start. The duo added 115 runs for the opening partnership that put SRH on the back foot.
But the hosts couldn't carry on the start that they had and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Nicholas Pooran (45) played a decent hand that powered his team to a total of 205 for seven.
SRH lost opener Atharva Taide early in the chase but it didn't cost them much. This was because Abhishek Sharma (59) took the game away from LSG with his brutal half-century in just 18 balls. He was supported well by Ishan Kishan (35) as the duo added 82 runs for the second wicket.
After that, Heinrich Klaasen (47) and Kamindu Mendis (32 retd hurt) added salt to the wounds of Lucknow bowlers as they added 55 runs for the fourth wicket. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Aniket Verma then completed the unfinished job as Hyderabad chased the target with six wickets in hand.
