Sehwag Offers Free Education to Children of Odisha Train Accident Victims: Former Indian team opener Virender Sehwag on Sunday showed remarkable compassion for the children of those who passed away in the horrific Friday railway tragedy in Odisha.
Three trains—the Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express, the Bengaluru-Howrah super Fast, and a cargo train were involved in the pile-up, resulting in 275 casualties and 1,175 injuries.
Cricket great Virender Sehwag has announced that Sehwag International School in Gurugram would provide free education to children whose parents sadly perished in the deadly Odisha train tragedy.
Sehwag informed his contribution through a tweet where he quoted, “In this hour of grief, the least I can do is to take care of the education of children of those who lost their life in this tragic accident. I offer such children free education at Sehwag International School’s boarding facility.”
“Also, salute all the brave men and women who have been at the forefront of the rescue operations and the medical team and volunteers who have been voluntarily donating blood. We are together in this,” he added.
The Twittersphere, meanwhile, praised Sehwag for his extraordinary act during a time of need. He received many compliments and kind wishes.
