Shaheen Afridi DROPPED! Pakistan squad for New Zealand ODIs gets leaked
Former Pakistan National Cricket Team player Rashid Latif has revealed the squad of the team for the upcoming three-match ODI series against the New Zealand National Cricket Team. According to him, Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf have been dropped from the team.
After the shambolic outing in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Pakistan National Cricket Team will be locking horns with New Zealand in the white-ball series. The two heavyweights will be up against each other in the five-match T20I series and the three-match ODI series.
While Pakistan is all set to name a new-look squad in the T20Is, the PCB has taken some bold calls in the ODIs, as per Rashid Latif, who is close to the developments in Pakistan cricket. Senior players in Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq have retained their place in the team.
Mohammad Rizwan will be leading Pakistan National Cricket Team in the New Zealand ODIs while Abdullah Shafique has made a return to the team. His return hints that Babar Azam will be back to No.3.in the series.
The batter opened the innings in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and failed. Irfan Khan has been added as well following his impressive T20I performances during South Africa tour.
There are some new names in the bowling department for the Pakistan National Cricket Team for the New Zealand ODIs. Mohammad Waseem, along with Akif Javed and Mohammad Ali, have been included along with fast bowling all-rounder Faheem Ashraf, who played in ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as well.
Abrar Ahmed and Sufiyan Muqeem will be the two spinners. Rashid Latif also confirmed that Aqib Javed will continue as head coach while Mohammad Yousuf will be the batting coach.
