Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have faced a massive blow ahead of their opening game in the IPL.2025. Star pacer Mohsin Khan has been ruled out of the league due to the injury and the franchise didn't take long to announce his replacement.

Since the last few weeks, Lucknow Super Giants have been mulling over the fitness of Mohsin Khan. The fast bowler faced an unidentified injury during the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 and since then has been out of action. He was in the NCA for a while and it was expected that he would gain full fitness.

But that wasn't the case, Mohsin Khan wasn't deemed fit and hence was ruled out of the IPL 2025. This could turn out to be a big blow for Lucknow Super Giants as the left-arm pacer has been playing a major role for the team since last year, and his absence will leave a massive void.

It will now be a great opportunity for Shardul Thakur to showcase his potential and claim his take back. The fast bowler went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction and it came as a surprise to many. But since the last few weeks, he has been working hard with Lucknow Super Giants in their training camp.

With Shardul Thakur being there with Lucknow Super Giants, it was only a matter of time before him being named as a replacement. With the kind of experience that he has and the ability that he has, he could turn out to be a match-winner for the franchise.

Shardul Thakur will be joining Lucknow Super Giants for INR 2 crore

Shardul Thakur will be joining Lucknow Super Giants for INR 2 crore. The all-rounder was part of Chennai Super Kings last year. He would be keen to make the mark for his new team and help them register their maiden IPL win.

Releasing the official statement, the IPL governing council said:
