India batter Shreyas Iyer is all set to get back his central contract. As per the reports in Times of India, it is learned that the BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, along with head coach Gautam Gambhir and selector Ajit Agarka,r will be meeting on 29th March in Guwahati to discuss the contracts. 

Shreyas Iyer, who was removed from the BCCI's central contract after the ICC World Cup 2023, has forced the governing body to add him back because of his performances. The batter was axed from the contracts after he didn't feature for Mumbai inthe  Ranji Trophy. 

However, after that, Shreyas Iyer set the stage on fire with his magical performances in the domestic circuit as well as international cricket. The middle-order batter won titles in domestic cricket and also went on to win the IPL 2024 as a captain of Kolkata Knight Riders. 

Shreyas Iyer then also played a vital role for India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The right-hander was the leading run-getter in the tournament as he slammed over 220 runs and helped the Rohit Sharma-led side win the tournament without losing a single game.

 Shreyas is set to regain his contract, and it will be in a top category - BCCI source

This has made BCCI hand him back his central contract. The source close to the developments claimed that the batterwouldl be getting atop-categoryy contract. Speaking tothe  Times of India, he said: 

“Shreyas is set to regain his contract, and it will be in a top category. However, discussions are still ongoing on whether in Ishan’s case," the report cited a source as saying. 

The report also mentioned that BCCI also will be having discussions related to Ishan Kishan. The keeper-batter was alsoremovede from the central contracts following the same reasons as that of Iyer. But there is no clarity if he will be gettingthe  contract back. 

Ishan Kishanhas alsos been performing well in domestic cricket. He recently slammed a stupendous ton for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Rajasthan Royals. It remains to be seen if he gets his contract back or not.
