Shreyas Iyer optimistic for a turnaround in IPL 2022, says “will be unstoppable once we get going”: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Shreyas Iyer is optimistic for his team to make a complete turnaround in the ongoing edition of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL). He further asserted that they would be unstoppable once they get the much-needed momentum.
The two times IPL winner, KKR, is enduring a tough time in the Tata IPL 2022. The franchise has already lost five of its eight IPL 2022 matches, of which four losses came on the trot and is placed in the eighth position with just six rating points.
Notably, Kolkata kickstarted their campaign with three good wins in four matches, but things didn’t go well for the purple army since their initial triumphs.
“We got off to a really good start with three wins out of four games but after that things didn’t go pretty well for us but I still believe in the team,” Iyer told the official website of the team.
“We are ticking all the boxes to get on to the field and win matches. It’s just the execution part (where we are lacking). It’s just a matter of time once we get going, we will be unstoppable as a team,” he said.
KKR would be looking to draw inspiration from their massive turnaround in the previous edition of the IPL. From hanging at the bottom position during the first half to playing the final against Chennai Super Kings, KKR inked an unforgettable reversal in the IPL 2021.

BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly, has recently announced that the Tata IPL 2022 qualifier and eliminator 1 will be held in the Eden Gardens, Kolkata while the eliminator 2 and the final will be held in the Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat.
“We just got to know the qualifiers are at the Eden Gardens so we’ll put in our 100 per cent efforts to see to it that we win the games and go out there and entertain the fans,” Iyer said.
“The atmosphere has been amazing right from the start. The results are part and parcel of the game and definitely, the way we have been preparing as a team it is simply outstanding and people are putting in hard yards to see to it we win matches.
“It is unfortunate that the results aren’t going our way and as Sam (Billings) said, we have built the foundation really well. It’s just time to execute the right things at the right time.”
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will face Delhi Capitals (DC) in their next challenge that is set to be staged at the Wankhede Stadium on 28th April.
