Skipper Shreyas Iyer played a brilliant 97*-run knock and helped Punjab to put up a big score and later restricted Gujarat at 232. 

Gujarat Titans set a new franchise record by smashing 16 sixes in this match, surpassing their previous best of 14 against LSG in Ahmedabad during IPL 2023. Their total of 232/5 also became their highest successful chase and second-highest overall, just behind the 233/3 they posted against MI in 2023.

Shreyas Iyer led Punjab Kings from the front with a spectacular knock in his first match as captain. Although he narrowly missed a century, his innings was nothing short of extraordinary. He carried his form from the Champions Trophy, launching nine sixes, even taking on Rashid Khan with ease. His first shot—a glorious lofted on-drive off Rabada—set the tone for his dominance.

However, Marcus Stoinis played a handy knock, and a late flourish from Shashank Singh ensured PBKS reached a mammoth total of 243 runs. For Gujarat, Sai Kishore was the standout performer with three wickets, but Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj had a tough outing.

GT started the chase with aggressive intent, led by Sai Sudharsan's brilliant 74 off 41 balls, which included 5 fours and 6 sixes. Shubman Gill provided a fiery start with 33 off 14, while Buttler anchored the innings with a composed 54 off 33. His wicket at the crucial stage left Gujarat Titans' hopes hanging.

Rutherford played a crucial cameo, ensuring GT stayed ahead. Despite wickets falling, the chase never lost momentum. however, the impact substitute Vijaykumar Vyshak bowled excellent 3 overs leaking just 28 runs. His cheap overs proved to be game-changing at the end. Maxwell and Arshdeep picked key wickets, and PBKS won the game by 11 runs.
