Punjab Kings completed a magnificent win in the IPL 2025 as they beat Rajasthan Royals
Punjab Kings completed a magnificent win in the IPL 2025 as they beat Rajasthan Royals by ten runs on Sunday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Asked to bat, the visitors didn't have a great start to their innings as they lost three quick wickets in Priyansh Arya, Mitchell Owen and Prabhsimran Singh (21).
However, after that, Nehal Wadhera (70) bailed his team out of trouble with his brilliant half-century. He was supported well by skipper Shreyas Iyer (30) and then later Shashank Singh (59*). Thanks to the brilliant outing by the middle and lower order, the Punjab Kings posted a massive total of 219 for five.
Rajasthan Royals were off to a brutal start with the bat as openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (50) and Vaibhav Suryavanshi (40) going great guns with the bat. The duo added 76 runs for their opening partnership inside five overs.
Skipper Sanju Samson (20) played a decent hand but couldn't carry on the start that he had. Rajasthan Royals kept losing wickets at regular intervals despite Dhruv Jurel (53) playing a brilliant hand at the other end. Rajasthan managed just 209 for seven as they fell short of ten runs.
With the win against Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings completed 17 points in the IPL 2025. They moved to second on the points table. However, later wins by Gujarat Titans against Delhi Capitals made sure that they, along with Punjab and RCB, go into the next stage of the tournament.
