Shreyas Iyer to make comeback in Tests for England series? Reports make a massive claim

India batter Shreyas Iyer's career in Test might be over as the right-hander won't be featured in the longest format of the game anytime soon. As per the Journalist, Vaibhav Bhola, it is learned that the batter won't be part of the England Test series.

The Times Now Journalist mentioned that Gautam Gambhir-led team management has categorically mentioned that Shreyas Iyer can't play short ball, and hence, they don't want him in the team. The Test series between England and India is all set to begin on 20th June at Headingley in Leeds.

Shreyas Iyer has been undergoing a purple patch in cricket, and there were a lot of reports that claimed that he might make the cut into the team for the Test series against England. The batter, since the last year, has been magnificent in both domestic cricket as well as international cricket.

Shreyas Iyer won many titles with Mumbai and also won IPL with Kolkata Knight Riders. The premier batter also played a vital role for India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as he ended the tournament as the leading run-getter with over 220 runs to his name, helping his team win.

Shreyas Iyer last featured for India in the Test cricket during the series against England

Shreyas Iyer last featured for India in the Test cricket during the series against England. He played the first few games and then was dropped from the team owing to his poor performances. However, after that, he worked on his game, especially short ball and scored truckloads of runs.
