INDvsEng: In what comes out to be a big blow for Virat Kohli and his men, young opener Shubman Gill has triggered an internal injury. As per the reports of various prominent news outlets, Gill has sustained an injury due to which he can get ruled out of the opening test against England.

Gill, who did not had a good run in the recent test, sustained an injury after the World Test Championship final against New Zealand. The nature of the injury is still unknown, varying between shin to calf and hamstring damage, as per reports, it is serious.

The batsman will undergo immediate treatment and rehab to get fit on time for the test series against England, which is still more than a month away now.

As per the reports of Cricbuzz, the 21-years old was carrying an injury that got triggered during the recent ICC World Test Championship final.

The Indian skipper will be hopeful that Gill recovers on time for the first test in Nottingham on 4th August.

Despite a setback, team India has covered all the bases and has a couple of backup openers in the squad.

If Shubman gill doesn't recover on time, anyone from Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul will possibly replace him in the team.

The former will be the most prominent choice who has been waiting for his chance and will be raring to score plenty of runs again in the overseas conditions.

Still, there is a lot of time to advance any discussions on the openers. For the time being, the Indian management will be hoping Gill to recover on time and provide his services.

As of now, Virat and his whole squad has been given a three weeks break post the WTC Final. The members have the luxury to travel openly and spend quality time and freshen up for the upcoming series.

The members of the team will regroup on July 14 to begin their preparations for the five games Test series against England.
