Sri Lanka scored 242 runs with the loss of six wickets in 65.4 overs on Day 1. Dhananjaya de Silva made 94 runs, not out, whereas Angelo Mathews scored 64 runs.
Pakistan Bowlers got a few wickets in the early overs, but after that, they failed to get wickets, and Now, Sri Lanka is in a good position. Shaheen Afridi has taken three wickets on Day 1.
Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first; in their first inning, Sri Lanka lost a couple of wickets before lunch, but after it, They played fantastic cricket and showed good intent against a Strong Pakistan Bowling line-up.
Angelo Mathews and Dhananjaya de Silva made a crucial partnership of 131 runs for the 5th wicket. Both showed good resistance to Pakistani Bowlers and played with good technique and intent and led their team to a strong position from getting collapsed.
Dhananjaya de Silva is still on the crease, and he scored 94 runs in 157 balls with ten fours and three sixes, whereas Angelo Mathews got out by scoring 64 runs in 109 balls.
After the Partnership with Mathews, Dhananjaya de Silva made a decent partnership with wicket-keeper Sadeera Samarawickrama. Both made 57 runs for the fifth wicket.
Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi took three wickets, whereas Naseem Shah, Abrar Ahmed, and Salman Ali Agha got one wicket each.
