SLvsIND 2nd T20I: Hardik Pandya, Shaw, Devdutt Padikkal isolated, will not play 2nd T20I.

SLvsIND 2nd T20I: In a very unfortunate incident for the Indian team ahead of the 2nd T20I, eight prominent players of the Indian squad have been isolated and will not take part in the last two T20I matches. The news rolled out after Indian all-rounder Krunal Pandya, on Tuesday, tested covid positive, hours before the start of the 2nd T20I.

BCCI and SLC informed that the series will go ahead as planned with just the delay of one day for the last two remaining T20Is, which means, 2nd T20I will be held on 28th July while the last T20I will be held on 29th July.

The report from BCCI and SLC also revealed that eight players of the Indian squad have come in contact with Krunal Pandya, who has been tested covid positive. Although all the eight close contacts have returned negative, all of them will not feature in the 2nd T20I and are isolated until the further call.

The eight contacted players include Prithvi Shaw, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Devdutt Padikkal, Ishan Kishan, Krishnappa Gowtham and two other unnamed members of the Indian squad.

The sources claimed that all aforementioned cricketers will be again tested during the second T20I match.

“Both teams will be retested in the morning. Few of the Indian cricketers are in complete isolation and they will not play any further part in the series. We at SLC are all monitoring the situation. We are sure today’s match will go ahead”, confirmed the SLC Source.

It is noteworthy that Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav, who are in strict isolation, have been named in India’s complete test squad for the England series, starting August 4. Both the cricketers will have to return negative multiple times in order to board a flight to the UK and join the Indian squad.
