Vivo IPL 2021 PBKS vs MI: ‘Something is missing’ says Rohit Sharma after nine wicket loss against PBKS.
Vivo IPL 2021: Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma reckons that something is missing in the batting lineup of the side as they lost the last game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) by nine wickets.
This was Mumbai Indians third loss in the five games they have played.
“Something is missing in our batting line-up, we are not able to bat 20 overs in the fashion we want and that is something that we have to look at and see what we can do,” said Rohit.
“I still feel that it is not a bad wicket to bat on. You saw how Punjab Kings batters settled themselves and completed the target quite comfortably.”
Rohit Sharma feels that 150-160 runs in this wickets is a good total to defend.
“When you get somewhere around 150-160 runs then you are always on the game. We have scored runs in the power plays previously but are unable to bat deep and take the total over 150.”
Punjab Kings chased down the 131 runs total in 17.3 overs and with nine wickets in hand.
Skipper KL Rahul scored unbeaten 60 runs while Chris Gayle stood at the other end and scored 43 unbeaten.
Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma was the only lone warrior in the side to score a half century. Although Suryakumar Yadav looked good and scored some quick boundaries however he threw his wicket after getting settled.
The opening woes continued for the five times champion as Quinton de Kock failed to score runs and was sent back cheaply by Deepak Hooda.
