Sreesanth returns to the Kerala Squad for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021.
Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Former Indian pacer, S. Sreesanth has been inducted to the Kerala Squad for the domestic circuit. Sreesanth who has been out of the game for long seven years due to a ban is all set to mark his comeback to competitive cricket next year.
He has been named in the 21-men strong squad for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021.
Sreesanth was banned by the BCCI over his engagement in the match-fixing in the IPL has found his name in the squad. BCCI banned the pacer from all forms of cricket for seven years as his punishment. However, Sreesanth completed his ban in September this year.
The experienced speedster has been picked by Kerala Squad for the upcoming domestic T20 League starting January 10.
Earlier after the completion of the ban, Sreesanth was also included in the list of local T20 events this month.
Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) released the squad for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Tuesday.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson will lead the side and Sachin Baby will be his deputy.
Robin Uthappa along with Sanju Samson, Sachin Baby, and S. Sreesanth will provide the much-needed experience to the squad.
The other players include Salman Nizar, Vishnu Vinod, Asif KM, Akshay Chandran, Abhishek Mohan SL, Nidheesh M D, Vinoop S Manoharan, Mohammed Azharuddeen M, Vathsal Govind Sharma, Rohan S Kunnummal, Midhun S, Sreeroop M P, Midhun PK, and Rojith KG.
