Sri Lanka vs England: Moeen Ali joins England’s bio-bubble after returning negative for the Coronavirus.

Sri Lanka vs England: All Rounder Moeen Ali joins England’s bio-bubble after he was released from the isolation. The 33 years old cricketer was tested covid negative before boarding the Sri Lanka flight but eventually tested positive upon reaching the Hambantota airport.

After he was tested positive, the all-rounder was sent into the managed isolation for 10 days but the period was extended 3 more days.

“It is good to have Moeen back to the bio-bubble. When we came back from one of our sessions today, we saw him in the changing room and there was a smile in everyone’s faces,” ESPNcricinfo quoted Sam Curran, Moeen’s team-mate as saying.

“Moeen had a couple of tough weeks and no one ever would want to get into the situation. We are thankful that he is back with us and recovered nicely. We all were really excited to welcome him back to the bio-bubble again. He is an important player for us and he brings in a lot of experience,” Curran added.

The English all-rounder last played test cricket in August 2019 against Australia before he took a long break and eventually lost his central contract.

“Everyone in the squad is delighted to have Mo back and he will start training probably tomorrow.”

Our players follow social distancing inside the indoor settings: ECB Spokesperson

ECB spokesperson later said that each and every player inside the bubble is taking the rules seriously and following the social distancing measures nicely.

“We are not concerned. Our protocols have been excellent and we continue to be vigilant. We are the most compliant team in world cricket. We are the only international team in any sport to have a COVID compliance officer. He is responsible for ensuring we meet the highest of standards across our COVID protocols. We remain vigilant and respectful of the Sri Lankan authorities and we will do everything that is possible to keep our players and the general population safe,” the spokesperson said in a statement.

“We are well aware of the situations, our Covid compliance officer has all the good work of briefing the players with the rules and regulations. All the players wear masks in indoor settings and follow the rules seriously. Our players have done well while maintaining social distancing and we are proud of that.”
