Steffan Jones joins Rajasthan Royals as high-performance fast bowling coach: Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Friday announced the signing of former pacer Steffan Jones as the franchises’ high-performance fast bowling coach. The 48-years old will begin his second stint at the IPL with Rajasthan Royals ahead of the Tata IPL 2022.
Notably, Jones served RR back in the 2019 edition of the IPL as the fast bowling coach.
As per his new role, Steffan Jones will provide worthwhile inputs to the bowlers in the Rajasthan Royals (RR) family. He will assist, support and train the bowlers during the IPL 2022 and at the off-season as well.
The inaugural champions of the IPL, Rajasthan Royals, in a statement, said that Jones will work with the team during their pre-season camp from March 7-11 in Nagpur. All the Rajasthan contracted players, who are not involved in their national duties, will arrive in Nagpur at the Royals’ High-Performance Centre for the pre-season camp.
Steffan Jones expressed his delight and thanked the management for giving him the opportunity to work with a bunch of talented pacers in the team.
“I am delighted to be returning to the Rajasthan Royals and grateful to the management for giving me the opportunity to work with the team again. With a plethora of talented bowlers in our ranks, I’m looking forward to working with them round the year and preparing them to peak and excel when the season comes,” Jones said.

Further, Jones will also give inputs to the RR Academies all around the world to integrate better facilities for the budding players. All the, current and future, signed players by Rajasthan Royals will get a chance to train in these academies under the watchful eyes of 48-years old Steffan Jones.
“Steffan has been closely associated with the franchise over the past few years so he understands the culture perfectly, and brings with him a very able coaching style, which has been appreciated by both players and management in the past,” Royals’ Director of Cricket Kumar Sangakkara said.
“We are delighted to welcome him back to the franchise in his new role, wherein he will be working with our bowlers and providing support to them throughout the year, and we’re confident his expertise can guide us to newer heights.”
