Stephen Fleming unveils details about Ruturaj Gaikwad's replacement

Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming has dropped a bold statement on the replacement for Ruturaj Gaikwad for the rest of the IPL 2025. He said that they wouldn't look for an immediate replacement as they have some good players in the team, and they will look at them.

Chennai Super Kings faced a massive blow in the middle of the season. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out of the IPL 2025. The batter faced an elbow injury and, hence, wasn't deemed fit to take any further part in the league due to the fracture that he had.

Ruturaj Gaikwad was hit by Tushar Deshpande on the elbow during the game against Rajasthan Royals. There were a lot of speculations about his participation in the next game, but he managed to play the two games, after that, he underwent scans that revealed scans.

Ruturaj Gaikwad being ruled out of the IPL 2025 will come as a huge blow for the Chennai Super Kings. This is because he has been the most consistent batter for the team for the last few years, and finding a player of his calibre will be hard for the franchise.

There have been several reports that claimed that Ayush Mahtre will be one who will be replacing Ruturaj Gaikwad in the XI. Although there hasn't been any official confirmation, there have been a lot of rumours which have suggested the same, related to the replacement of Ruturaj Gaikwad.

We've got some good players in the squad that have been with us a while - Stephen Fleming on Ruturaj Gaikwad's replacement

However, Stephen Fleming made a bold statement, saying that they will be looking at the players in the squad and won't be looking at replacements. While speaking to reporters ahead of the game, he said:

"We've got some good players in the squad that have been with us a while, so we'll look from within first. But yeah, there is an opportunity to see how we can enhance the squad probably moving forward into subsequent year."

Chennai Super Kings will be next seen in action when they will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in their next game. The match will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday (11th April).
