Sunil Narine to be demoted in batting order amid poor form? KKR's assistant coach drops bombshell

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) assistant coach Otis Gibson rubbished off all the rumours of Sunil Narine's demotion in the batting order ahead of the game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). He openly mentioned that there won't be any change in the opening combination.

Sunil Narine has been having a tough time in the ongoing IPL as a batter for Kolkata Knight Riders. Opening the batting, he hasn't been at his fluent best in the league as he was last year, batting at the top for the defending champions.

Sunil Narine played a vital role for Kolkata Knight Riders last year while opening. The opening batter slammed over 400 runs in the league last year and helped his team win the tournament. It was expected that he would do the same this time around, too, but that hasn't been the case so far.

Sunil Narine started the season with a solid 44 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, but after that, he failed to score runs. He bagged three back-to-back low scores, and since then, there have been a lot of talk about his form in the league.

There also have been a lot of rumours about KKR management thinking of demoting Sunil Narine from the order. However, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) assistant coach Otis Gibson gave a solid reply to all the rumours related to the batting position of Sunil Narine.

Sunil Narine's form is not a concern at all - Otis Gibson

Otis Gibson said that the form of Sunil Narine isn't a concern for them. He revealed that the batter is working hard in the nets, highlighting that he can take the game away from the opposition in his day. He added that there won't be any change in the opening partnership. Speaking to reporters, he said:

"Sunil Narine's form is not a concern at all. It is still early stages of the tournament and he's working hard at the nets. We all know on his day, he can take away the match from the opposition. No change in opening pair".

Sunil Narine will be next seen in action when Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Lucknow Super Giants in their next game. The match will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday (8th April).
