Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) coaches revealed for the IPL 2022: The Sun Group-owned Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Thursday disclosed their support staff for the 2022 edition of the cash-rich IPL. The franchise has roped in massive names from the world of cricket for the coming season.
SRH ended its IPL 2021 campaign on a poor note. The team hung at the bottom of the points table of the IPL 2021. SRH was the first franchise to get eliminated from the playoffs race despite having big stars on the side.
This time, ahead of the fifteenth edition of the IPL, the 2016 IPL champion, SRH, has decided to procure a strong think tank for the team. Down below is the list of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) coaches for the IPL 2022.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) coaches revealed for the IPL 2022:
Head Coach – Tom Moody
Former Australian all-rounder Tom Moody has returned to the helm as the head coach of the franchise. Moody was the head coach of SRH from 2013 to 2019, however, he was appointed Director of Cricket Operations in IPL 2020 and IPL 2021.
Tom Moody will replace Trevor Bayliss, who was the head coach of SRH during IPL 2020 and 2021.
Batting Coach – Brian Lara
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have signed former Carrebbian batsman Brian Lara as the franchise’s batting coach. The legendary batsman, Lara will also work closely with the franchise as their strategic advisor.
Bowling Coach – Dale Steyn
In a major development, former SRH and RCB pacer Dale Steyn has joined the orange army for IPL 2022 as the bowling coach. Steyn announced his retirement from international cricket earlier this year.
In the IPL 2020 and 2021, SRH didn’t have a specific bowling coach. Though former Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan was associated with the franchise as the bowling mentor.

Bowling Mentor – Muttiah Muralitharan
Muralitharan will remain as the team’s bowling mentor. To be specific, Dale Steyn will handle the pace department of the team while Muralitharan will look after the spinners. Moreover, the Sri Lankan legend will also mentor the youngster in the team with his valuable insights.
Assistant Coach – Simon Katich
Former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) head coach Simon Katich has joined the orange army for the IPL 2022. Katich will replace former Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Brad Haddin as the assistant coach in the team.
It is noteworthy that Simon Katich has worked with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the past.
Fielding coach and Scout – Hemang Badani
Former team India’s left-handed batsman Hemang Badani has been appointed SRH’s fielding coach and player scout for the IPL 2022.
