Suresh Raina all set to become CSK's batting coach for IPL 2026 after the team's horrible campaign in IPL 2025
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is all set to make a massive addition to its coaching staff ahead of the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). According to reports in RevSportz, the franchise will hire Suresh Raina as the batting coach for IPL 2026.
This comes after the poor performances of Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing IPL 2025. The five-time champions struggled big time with bat and ball in the tournament and ended the season last on the points table. This was their worst possible season in the league.
One of the major reasons behind the struggle of the Chennai Super Kings was their batting. The MS Dhoni-led side failed to score runs and batted pretty slowly, which saw them lose games. Apart from Ayush Mhatre and Dewald Brevis, who joined the team mid-season, none of the other batters looked settled.
Addition of Suresh Raina for the next season will be a massive boost for the Chennai Super Kings
Hence, the addition of Suresh Raina for the next season will be a massive boost for the Chennai Super Kings. The former Indian cricketer played a massive role in the success of the franchise during his playing days, and it's fair to say that he was one of the best batters to have played for the franchise.
In their last game, Chennai Super Kings ensured that they ended the IPL 2025 on a high as they beat Gujarat Titans by 83 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
Asked to bat, Chennai had a powerful start to their innings as a duo of Ayush Mhatre (34) and Devon Conway (52) added 44 runs for an opening partnership. After that, Urvil Patel (37) joined hands with Conway, and the duo did further carnage, adding 63 runs for the second wicket.
In the end, it was Dewald Brevis (57) who stole the limelight with his brutal innings and ensured that Chennai posted a massive total of 230 runs on the board. For Gujarat, Prasidh Krishna bagged two wickets.
Gujarat had a terrible outing with the bat as they kept losing wickets right from the start. Sai Sudharsan (41) looked good, but he couldn't carry on the start that he had as Gujarat was left tottering at 110 for seven.
Arshad Khan (20) played some shots to entertain the crowd but couldn't take his team home as Chennai ended Gujarat's innings on 147 to win the game by 83 runs.
