Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah named his four favourites for the T20 World Cup 2024. What caught the attention of many was he left out defending champions England, who had been exceptional in the tournament.
The T20 World Cup 2024 is all set to kick start from 1st June and the final will be played on 30th June. The mega event will take place in the United States of America and the Caribbean and it will be for the first time that 20 teams will take part in the tournament.
Almost all the teams have named their squad for the tournament and it promises to be an enthralling tournament. With the T20 format being unpredictable, all the teams stand an equal chance going into the event. However, there will be few favourites going into the tournament.

The big three in India, England and Australia will be the top picks but in tournaments like this, you can write off teams like Pakistan, New Zealand, West Indies and South Africa. Therefore it will be exciting to see who progresses further to the last stage.
According to Jay Shah, England won’t be qualifying for the semi-finals. He stated that India, Australia, and New Zealand would be the favourites to win the title. All these teams have pretty solid players in the ranks and it won’t be a surprise if any one of them wins.
