Australia tour of India 2022 for 3 T20Is in September: Team India is all set to welcome their Australian counterparts for the three-match Twenty-20 International series in a build-up for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Down Under. The Aussies are fixed to tour India in September prior to the World Cup.



Foxsports.com.au confirmed the development on Wednesday along with a couple of home series in Australia.



"Australia will play a number of white ball series with home games against Zimbabwe, New Zealand, West Indies and England coming either side of three T20s in India in September,? said a report published in foxsports.com.au.



Notably, the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is slated to begin on the 16 October and Australia?s T20I tour to India will be crucial for both sides to solidify their preparations for the marquee ICC event.



The series against Australia will be India?s fourth T20I series following the end of the ongoing Tata IPL 2022. The fifteenth edition of the IPL will be concluded on May 29th post which Rohit Sharma and Co will host South Africa for five-match T20I series, beginning June 9.

After wrapping up the home schedule against South Africa, the Indian contingent will then proceed to the Ireland tour for two T20Is followed by a tour of England, where they will play the rescheduled fifth test match along with a three matches ODIs and as many games T20I series.



The rescheduled test match, to be played at Edgbaston, against England will be part of the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 and will be of huge significance as it can lift India?s ranking in the points table. A win against England will boost India?s chances to qualify for the final of the Test championship.



Following the successful wrap of the England tour, India will host Australia for three-match T20I series.&nbsp;



Notably, team India made an early exit from the last T20 World Cup after failing to perform against Pakistan and New Zealand in the opening two matches in the UAE.



Australia will also tour India in 2023 for four matches Test series (Border Gavaskar Trophy) in February-March.

As of now, India stands in 4th position in the WTC points table with a 52.08% win record. The first two places in the same ranking have been secured by Australia (75%) and South Africa (60%). While Sri Lanka has held third place with an aggregate winning percentage of 53.33.



If India manages to win all six of its remaining matches, its winning percentage would surge up to 68.06 which will put India in a commanding position. In addition to that, India would also hope South Africa loses at least two or three of their test matches in the current WTC cycle.



South Africa is scheduled to play three-match test series against Australia in Australia, starting December 17. Their remaining two test matches will be against West Indies in February 2023.

IND vs AUS Test: Pat Cummins wants 'all-bases covered' for India test series: Australian test skipper Pat Cummins wants all the bases covered in his squad for the upcoming marquee test series against India. The Aussies will tour India in 2023 for four test matches and the subsequent three ODIs. 



Cummins reckons besides the services of frontline spinner Nathan Lyon, Aston Agar and Travis Head will also be crucial for Australia's bowling plans against India. 



?I think our squad will have basically all possibilities. It?s a big series, so we want everything at our disposal,? Pat Cummins said after the sealing 2-0 test series victory against South Africa.



Interestingly, Keeping in mind the forthcoming India tour, Australia had called-up Aston Agar for the final test against South Africa. Although the spinner remained wicketless, he gave away just 58 runs in 22 overs.



Aston Agar will be vital for Australia's plans against the packed right-handed Indian top order. Being a left-arm spinner he can trouble the Indian batters. 



?Ash will be there, a left-arm orthodox ? he?ll absolutely be there,? ?It wasn?t an audition at all (for the India tour). This wicket?s a bit different to India, it wasn?t really spinning out of the middle of the wicket.



?An Indian wicket sometimes really breaks up, even from the middle of the wicket, and a left-arm orthodox becomes a bit more effective against right-hand batters. I thought he did really well,? Cummins added.



While senior spinner Nathan Lyon will spearhead the spin bowling attack against India, Travis Head can prove to be a handy bowler.



?Travis is a slightly different off-spin bowler to Nath (Lyon), a bit flatter which could be really helpful over there. I?ve been really happy with how he (Head) has bowled, and probably under-bowled him even in this game.



Meanwhile, all-rounder Cameron Green, who bagged a whopping contract worth INR 17.50 Crores from Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023 Auction, is expected to recover on time for the India tour. Green suffered a finger fracture injury during the recent South Africa series.



?Cam Green bats at six, so you?ve got three quick bowlers which is a bit of luxury as it is,? Pat Cummins said.

The squad for Australia's Test series against India has been revealed. Todd Murphy, a young spinner aged 22, has been named to Cricket Australia's 18-person team. Prithvi Shaw did not find any takers as the Mumbai batter went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction. Prithvi, who had a base price of Rs 75 lakh in the auction, was released by Delhi Capitals but he did not attract any bids from the ten franchises.
Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal has said that Prithvi Shaw is misunderstood in many ways but needed a 'jolt' in the form of the IPL 2025 Auction snub. Shaw has been part of the Delhi franchise since returning as the U-19 World Cup winning captain in 2018 and was bought for 1.2 Crores. Ahead of the 2022 auction, the Mumbai batter was retained by DC for Rs. 7.5 Crore but the past few seasons hasn't been great for the 25-year-old.
Speaking to Sports Today, Jindal said that Shaw is a great kid but needed a jolt to get up from his slumber. The DC co-owner feels that Shaw needs to work hard, get back the love of the game and get disciplined. Jindal ended by saying he hopes the Mumbai batter can return back to his best form
Delhi has backed Prithvi Shaw a lot. DC had hoped that he is a powerplay player and would hit 6 boundaries in one over. And he did that too. He hit Shivam Mavi for 6 fours in an over. He had a lot of potential and DC backed him to the hilt. We always thought that if Shaw manages to score, we will win. And we gave him a lot of chances," Kaif told on Jio Cinema.

In the 79 matches he has played, Shaw has scored 1892 runs at an average of 23.95 and a strike-rate of 147.47. He also scored 14 fifties during this time.

Kieron Pollard replaced skipper Nicholas Pooran, but the seasoned right-hander struggled to get going and was eventually sent out for five by Ali Khan. Following Dan Mousley's dismissal for six, Romario Shepherd joined his skipper for the innings' last stretch. Jason Holder made a solid 49, but Pooran, who was hitting it cleanly, was almost at his half-century before he fell.

But Narine was caught at cover for 13 in the 18th over, and David Willey was dismissed by Fazalhaq Farooqi in the 19th. The MI Emirates won easily, and Russell, who was still undefeated at 37 from 23 deliveries, was unable to lead his team across the finish line.

India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan have all revealed their squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This has made many speculate about why Pakistan isn't announcing their squad for the tournament, which is less than one month away. 
There have been several reports that Pakistan will be announcing their squad for the tournament soon. They are awaiting the fitness of a few players, and hence, they will soon be naming the team. Some reports also have revealed the players who will be playing, but an official announcement is yet to come.

Amid all this, former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali commented on the same, saying that no one knows what is happening. He speculated that they might be waiting for the fitness report on Saim Ayub. Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he explained: 
"Pakistan kya darr gaya jo abhi tak team announce nahi ki? Nahi dara nahi hai. Samajh nahi aa rahi hai -- karein to kya karein? (Is Pakistan scared to announce their squad? No, it isn't, just unsure what to do and what not). The biggest issue is whether Saim Ayub can return fit or not. It's still not clear." 
It remains to be seen when will Pakistan announce the squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament is all set to take place from 19th February, with the final all set to be played on 9th March.
