West Indies test skipper Jason Holder along with 9 other cricketers to miss Bangladesh?s tour due to covid-19 related issues. Cricket West Indies (CWI) on Tuesday announced that 10 players have pulled out of the country?s tour to Bangladesh due to "Covid-19 related concerns or personal fears".



Evin Lewis, Kieron Pollard, Roston Chase, Darren Bravo, Shamarh Brooks, Sheldon Cottrell, Shai Hope, Jason Holder, Shimron Hetmyer, and Nicholas Pooran have pulled out their names from the respective squads.



West Indies is scheduled to play three One Day Internationals and two test games in Chattogram and Dhaka. The tour will begin from 20th January with ODIs.



Cricket West Indies said its Covid-19 policies give players permission and allow them to opt-out of the squads for an overseas tour when based on players? safety.



?The decision to pull out names in any particular overseas tour will not impact their future selection in any case,? it said.



The Test squad will be led by the experienced Kraigg Brathwaite, with Jermaine Blackwood as vice-captain. Former West Indies A team captain Jason Mohammed will lead the ODI team with Sunil Ambris as vice-captain.



West Indies test side will be led by Kraigg Brathwaite in absence of regular skipper Jason Holder while Jermaine Blackwood will be his deputy in the tour.



For the ODI squad, Jason Mohammed who has been former captain of West Indies A will lead the limited over side with Sunil Ambris acting as Vice-Captain.

Vivo IPL 2021: Rajasthan Royals suffer another blow as Mustafizur Rahman delays his arrival.



Vivo IPL 2021: Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman gives another blow to Rajasthan Royals as he continues to delay his arrival in India for the fourteenth edition of IPL. Rahman is currently with Bangladesh national squad in New Zealand for the limited-overs series.?



The pacer did not feature in the last two T20Is against New Zealand and will remain with the Bangladesh squad till Sunday. He will fly to India on 04th April.



?He has not yet left for India. He is with the team and will only leave with the team on Sunday,? said Bangladesh Cricket Board?s Senior Manager.



The pacer will have to undergo mandatory seven days quarantine upon arriving in India with a commercial flight which will rule him out of two games for Rajasthan Royals.



?My first priority is to play for my country, and if I am picked in the Test series against Sri Lanka, I will naturally play. If I am not picked, then BCB will tell me that I am not included. At that point, if I am given NOC to play in the IPL, then I will play, but patriotism comes first for me,? Mustafizur Rahman said.



Earlier, the inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals had suffered the first blow as Jofra Archer will miss a couple of initial games, he has undergone surgery to get rid of the small glass fragment from his arm.



Archer was having an issue with his arm since the starting of 2021 and the England Cricket Medical team was handling it for the India tour and now as the tour is finished, Archer went for surgery.



In absence of Archer and Mustafizur Rahman, Andrew Tye will lead the pace attack for Rajasthan Royals.?

ICC T20 World Cup 2021: Almost all the participating cricket team of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021 have released their squads for the elite tournament. International Cricket Council (ICC) had, earlier, asked all the cricket boards to unveil their respective T20 World Cup squads by 10th September.



The showpiece event is slated to be held in the UAE and Oman, starting on 17th October. Initially, qualifier matches will be held before the top eight teams of ICC rankings will take on each other.



As per the rules and regulations prescribed by the ICC, all the cricket boards can only name a 15-men squad for the T20 World Cup along with three stands by players. Although the last date of squad submission was 10th September, the boards can make changes to their squads by 10th October.&nbsp;

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka edged past an impressive Bangladesh Side in a heart-enthralling encounter at the Dubai international stadium. The highly significant match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh ended in the most intense manner as one could have imagined it to be.&nbsp;

Elite Indian All-Rounder Hardik Pandya was once considered as the front runner to become the next captain of Team India. He was leading the team in T20 Internationals in the absence of Rohit Sharma who was busy preparing for tha 2023 ODI World Cup. Many thought that Junior Pandya will replace Rohit as the captain in limited overs formats. 
However, ever since Gautam Gambhir was appointed as the new head coach of the Men in Blue, things have gone all wrong for Pandya. Suryakumar Yadav was given the T20 captaincy duties, which was a complete gamble. Moreover, the 31-year-old was not even considered for the role of the vice-captain.

Prithvi Shaw did not find any takers as the Mumbai batter went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction. Prithvi, who had a base price of Rs 75 lakh in the auction, was released by Delhi Capitals but he did not attract any bids from the ten franchises.
Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal has said that Prithvi Shaw is misunderstood in many ways but needed a 'jolt' in the form of the IPL 2025 Auction snub. Shaw has been part of the Delhi franchise since returning as the U-19 World Cup winning captain in 2018 and was bought for 1.2 Crores. Ahead of the 2022 auction, the Mumbai batter was retained by DC for Rs. 7.5 Crore but the past few seasons hasn't been great for the 25-year-old.
Speaking to Sports Today, Jindal said that Shaw is a great kid but needed a jolt to get up from his slumber. The DC co-owner feels that Shaw needs to work hard, get back the love of the game and get disciplined. Jindal ended by saying he hopes the Mumbai batter can return back to his best form
Delhi has backed Prithvi Shaw a lot. DC had hoped that he is a powerplay player and would hit 6 boundaries in one over. And he did that too. He hit Shivam Mavi for 6 fours in an over. The MI Emirates produced a clinical display with the bat and the ball, handing the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders a 28-run defeat at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in the Match 14 of International League T20 (ILT20) 2025 on Tuesday, January 21.
MI Emirates got off to a strong start when they were asked to bat first, with openers Muhammad Waseem (38) and Kusal Perera making a strong stand at the top. The Sri Lankan Perera was the first to leave for 23 soon before the powerplay ended, following a 42-run partnership between the two players. Tom Banton entered, and he and Waseem made sure the MI Emirates maintained the run rate.
Banton was out for nine around the halfway point of the innings, while Waseem was out for 38 shortly after. Kieron Pollard replaced skipper Nicholas Pooran, but the seasoned right-hander struggled to get going and was eventually sent out for five by Ali Khan. With just over 6 overs remaining, the score was at 102/4.
Following Dan Mousley's dismissal for six, Romario Shepherd joined his skipper for the innings' last stretch. Jason Holder made a solid 49, but Pooran, who was hitting it cleanly, was almost at his half-century before he fell.

Shepherd was given more attention in the last few overs as a result. Hopes of a recovery were raised when Sunil Narine and Andre Russell were called to the middle and embarked on a half-century stand.
But Narine was caught at cover for 13 in the 18th over, and David Willey was dismissed by Fazalhaq Farooqi in the 19th. The MI Emirates won easily, and Russell, who was still undefeated at 37 from 23 deliveries, was unable to lead his team across the finish line.
