Bangladesh have come up with a strong 16-men squad to tour Pakistan. Taskin last played a Test in June 2023 but took a break from red-ball cricket to focus on recovering from a shoulder injury. Recently, he expressed a desire to return to red-ball cricket, and the BCB believes he is fit enough to handle the demands of the longer format.

The selection panel chose Shakib Al Hasan and Shoriful Islam despite their long absence from Test cricket. Their return to the squad significantly strengthens the bowling department on Pakistani soil.



Taijul and Miraz have been the backbone of Bangladesh's spin attack for quite some time, with more than 350 wickets combined. Bangladesh will also rely on Shanto, Litton Das, and the rest of the batting lineup to perform well, as it will take a collective team effort to compete effectively against Pakistan.

After clinching the historic Test series in Pakistan, Bangladesh would be confident enough to offer some challenges to the Indian team in India. The Bangladesh Cricket Board have announced the Bangladesh squad against India which is almost similar to the one, that traveled to Pakistan. 



Shoriful Islam, the 23 year-old pacer, has missed out on the Bangladesh squad. He suffered through a groin injury in the Rawalpindi test against Pakistan, which they won by 10 wickets.

His unavailability proved to be Jaker's opportunity! Jaker Ali, the right-handed Wicketkeeper batter got his first call for the red ball game. The 26-year-old, Ali has an average of 44 in the 81 innings he has batted on.

The first Test is scheduled to take place in Chennai, starting on September 19, followed by the second match in Kanpur on September 27. This series marks the beginning of India's home season, with the hosts fielding a strong squad, spearheaded by senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.



Bangladesh have yet to secure a Test victory against India. In their previous encounter during the 2019-20 season, India dominated with a 2-0 series win. The upcoming Test series will be followed by three T20 Internationals, scheduled to take place in Gwalior, Delhi, and Hyderabad, respectively.
