Tema India?s current head coach, Ravi Shastri on Tuesday shared a photo of him getting covid-19 inoculation. Shastri received the first shot of the vaccine at City Hospital Ahmedabad.



India?s vaccine drive entered its second phase on Monday and all the peoples who are above 60 and those over 45 with co-morbidities will be given the preference this time.



The second phase began with the shot to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who took the first shot in AIIMS Delhi.

However, there is no clarity whether other members of the Indian management also took the shot or not.



Indian contingent and their English counterpart are currently preparing for the last test match at Ahmedabad. The fourth test will begin on 04th March and will decide whether India will compete against New Zealand in ICC World Test Championship or Australia.



The series is right now in India?s favour with a 2-1 lead with two back to back wins after the defeat in the first test game in Chennai.

ENGvsIND: Team India?s head coach Ravi Shastri has tested covid positive on a lateral flow (covid-19) test on Saturday evening in London. He has been sent into isolation following the report while the entire Indian team has been cleared to play the test match following two negative reports.

Fielding coach R Sridhar, Bowling coach Bharat Arun and physiotherapist Nitin Patel are also placed in isolation as a precautionary measure by the medical team of team India.



?The BCCI Medical Team has isolated Mr Ravi Shastri, Head Coach, Mr B. Arun, Bowling Coach, Mr R. Sridhar, Fielding Coach and Mr Nitin Patel, Physiotherapist as a precautionary measure after Mr Shastri?s lateral flow test returned positive last evening,? stated <a href="https://www.bcci.tv/articles/2021/news/155038/four-members-of-team-india-support-staff-to-remain-in-isolation">BCCI in a release</a>.



The statement further informed that the four isolated will remain in London and not travel with the Indian squad until the next assessment from the medical team.



The players have undergone two lateral flow Covid-19 tests since Shastri?s report came. All the players returned negative and hence were given clearance to play the ongoing test match.

As of now, Team India has scored 291 runs in the loss of three wickets and gained a healthy lead of 192 runs on day four of the Oval Test. Skipper Virat Kohli and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja are tiring out the English pacers at the middle after Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara?s sensational partnership on day three.

?We would like to make an official announcement. Mr Rahul Dravid has paid Rs 35,000 personally to our groundsmen,? the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) announced in the press box after the game.



Experts reckon that the pitch prepared by the groundsmen was nearly perfect for a test match. They believe that the curators would have done rather differently if they wanted the match to get wrapped up within three or four days, however, it was not the case. They prepared the best of the surfaces that had enough for everyone who applied their proper techniques.

<h2>India vs New Zealand 1st Test:</h2>



The first test match between India and New Zealand ended in a draw following a tight fight at the end. India were due to take one final wicket of New Zealand while the quota of overs for day five was completed and the sunlight did the rest of the work to draw the match.



The Indian origin Rachin Ravindra and Ajaz Patel fought hard and kept the wicket until umpires signalled for a call-off of the test match following bad light in Kanpur. 



Indian debutant batter Shreyas Iyer was adjudged Player of the Match for his supreme century and a half-century in two respective innings against New Zealand.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently released a notification for the role of head coach in the senior men's Indian team. The post will be vacant after the completion of the extended tenure of incumbent Rahul Dravid, who is set to be relieved from his duties after the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. 



Notably, Rahul Dravid was convinced to take up the head coach duties in Team India after the completion of Ravi Shastri's tenure in 2021. Dravid led India to the final of the ICC World Test Championship 2023 along with the lucrative ODI World Cup in 2023, besides leading the team to top positions in all three formats of the game.



Dravid's tenure was completed after the ODI World Cup 2023, where Team India lost in the finals to Australia, however, keeping in mind the impending ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, the BCCI extended his contract for a year. This time, Dravid hasn't asked for any extension and conveyed the same to the BCCI, hence the post will be vacant.



The term of office for the new head coach is specified for three and a half years by the BCCI, which will begin on July 1, 2024. The roles and responsibilities include developing a "world-class" team across all formats for sustained success. He will also be leading the specialist team of coaches and support staff, who will assist the team.



Being Team India's head coach is a rigorous task as it involves being on the road for approximately 10 months a year. The only substantial leave a head coach gets is during the IPL window, which is two months.



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Salary And Perks of Team India's Head Coach</h2>

The cricket board in its advertisement stated that the salary will be ?negotiable and will be commensurate with experience," which means that it can go higher than this.



Some reports have indicated that Team India's current head coach, Rahul Dravid, draws a handsome pay of INR 12 Crores per annum from the BCCI. 



The other perks of being Team India's head coach include business class travel to each and every destination the team goes to play cricket. The players, coaches and support staff are arranged the best possible luxury travel in the business class. The individuals get accommodation in the best hotels present in the vicinity, wherever they go.



In addition to this, the BCCI also aids the contracted person in case of any family emergency. The board has often assisted the players and coaches with charter flights and extended any possible help at their disposal in case of any emergency situation.

This means that Rohit Sharma won't be travelling to Pakistan for this and will be staying in Dubai with the team.
