ICC Player of the Month Award: Team India?s historic win architect Rishabh Pant has been nominated for the ICC Men?s Player of the Month award by the International Cricket Council along with England skipper Joe Root and Ireland cricketer Paul Stirling.



The International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken an initiative to appreciate and celebrate the best performer of the month in men and women?s category across all the three international cricket format. The inaugural nominees of the award are team India wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, Ireland cricketer Paul Stirling and England skipper Joe Root.



Rishabh Pant against Australia performed out of the box and scored 97 at Sydney which held the foundation for the draw and a classy unbeaten 89 at Brisbane to ensure the series win against Australia in Australia.



England skipper Joe Root has been nominated for his power-packed performance against Sri Lanka in the two test games. Root scored 228 and 186 to lead his side to a 2-0 easy win at Sri Lanka.



While the third in the list is Paul Stirling, he played two ODI against UAE and three against Afghanistan where he amassed three centuries.

<h2>ICC Player of the Month Award for Women's</h2>



Among the Women?s cricketer, South Africa?s Shabnim Ismail and Marizanne Kapp and Pakistan?s Diana Baig are announced as the nominees for the inaugural award.

Baig featured in three ODIs and two Twenty20 games against South Africa and she scalped nine wickets in the three ODIs. She became the leading wicket-taker of the series.



Shabnim Ismail played two T20Is and three ODIs against Pakistan and took seven wickets. She even picked five wickets in the second T20I game against Pakistan.



Ismail?s counterpart all-rounder Marizanne Kapp played the equal number of games and amassed 115 runs at a strike rate of 110.57. Kapp picked three wickets in the ODI series against Pakitan which landed her in the list of nominees of the inaugural award of the month.

ICC Player of the Month: Rishabh Pant won the ICC Player of the Month award.



ICC Player of the Month: Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant after his heroic against Australia, emerged as the ICC inaugural Player of the Month. Pant gave two match-winning performance against Australia last month to win the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21 with 2-1 Lead.



The left-handed batsman scored 97 at Sydney and an unbeaten 89 at Brisbane Gaba to seal the iconic series against Australia in Australia.



Rishabh Pant appreciated the initiatives taken by the ICC to motivate the cricketers for their performances in the recent past.&nbsp;

<h2>ICC Women's Player of the Month Award:</h2>



For the women?s? category, South African Shabnim Ismail was named as the winner of the inaugural award.



Ismail in the three games ODI series against Pakistan took seven scalps and ran through Pakistani T20 lineup in the second T20I as she picked five wickets to win the game.

All the three nominees were chosen on the basis of the on-field performances and overall achievements in the given one months period i.e., from the first day of the month to the last day.



The voting was then conducted to choose the winner among the nominees. The voting is done by the independent ICC Voting academy and the fans across the globe.



The ICC Voting Academy comprises of the former cricket personalities along with senior journalist and members of ICC Hall of Fame.

ICC Player of the Month: Team India?s off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, England Test skipper Joe Root and West Indies new batting sensation Kyle Mayers have been nominated for the ICC Player of the Month award for the outstanding performances in the month of February.



International Cricket Council earlier this year started an initiative to promote the best performances of the month in the Cricketing field. The winner of the inaugural ICC Player of the Month award was Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant. The left-handed batsman showed tremendous grit and confidence against Australia to retain the Border Gavaskar Trophy in January.



Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin scored a brilliant century against England in the second test in front of his home crowd in Chennai and also picked his 400th wickets in Test cricket in the penultimate test match. He was also rewarded as the Man of the Match in the second test game against England.



?Scoring a total of 176 runs across these games with taking a total of 24 wickets, Ashwin is the deserving candidate to be nominated in the men?s category for February,? the ICC release stated.

England test skipper Joe Root again found his way to the awards nominee list. Root in the test series against India amassed brilliant 333 runs with the bat which also involves one sizzling test double ton. Performing with the ball, Root picked six wickets which include a five-for.



The West Indies test debutant, Kyle Mayers scored a match-winning knock of 210 runs against Bangladesh and chased down 395 total with ease in Chittagong.?



While in the Women?s list, English cricketer Tammy Beaumont and Nat Sciver alongside Brooke Halliday from New Zealand are nominated for the ICC Player of the Month Award.

ICC Player of the Month: Indian speedster Bhuvneshwar Kumar on Tuesday was announced as the winner of the ICC Player of the Month for his splendid performance in the white ball leg against England in the month of March.



Ace tweaker Rashid Khan and Zimbabwe batsman Sean Williams were also nominated for the award in the Men?s category.



The International Cricket Council (ICC) started this initiative in January 2021 to appreciate the efforts put by the players every month. This is the third award and Indian players have bagged all of them. Earlier the award was won by Rishabh Pant and Ravichandran Ashwin.

ICC Player of the Month: New Zealand batsman Devon Conway along with English women spinner Sophie Ecclestone, have been voted out for the Player of the Month award in their respective categories for their exploits in June.



Conway, who announced his arrival in Test cricket in some way, smashed a double ton on his debut game against England at Lord?s and continued his astounding form to score a much-needed half-century in the final of the ICC World Test Championship against India to win the maiden test title.



The cricketer is also the first kiwi to win the ICC Player of the Month award.

ICC Player of the Month for November: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday adjudged explosive Australian opener David Warner and West Indies all-rounder Hayley Matthews as the respective Men and Women?s Player of the Month award winner for the month of November.



Warner?s stellar efforts during the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 were noted down as he helped Australia bag its maiden T20 World Cup title in Dubai. Warner?s valiant efforts assisted him to pip the likes of New Zealand pacer Tim Southee and Pakistani opener Abid Ali.



The Aussie opener was also named as the Player of the Tournament in the T20 World Cup. He smacked three half-centuries including the one against New Zealand in the final. David amassed a total of 289 runs in seven World cup matches at a strike rate of 146.70.&nbsp;



The southpaw mustered 53 runs off 38 deliveries in the final against New Zealand as Australia crossed the total of 173 runs with one over to spare.



Russel Arnold, who is one of the jury members said that David Warner returned to his absolute best during the all-important showpiece event.



"David was back to his scintillating best during the T20 WC and his aggression at the top of the order was outstanding," Arnold was quoted as saying in the ICC statement.

She amassed 141 runs in four One Day matches against Pakistan in Karachi. She also scalped nine wickets in the series, registering her overall best of 4/26 in the series.



?Hayley was the star of the tournament, performing with both bat and ball. Her all-round performance was one of the reasons the West Indies won against Pakistan, and she deserves to be the women?s Player of the Month,? said Irfan Pathan who was also part of the jury.

ICC Player of the Month nominee announced for December 2021: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Saturday announced the three nominees for the ICC Player of the Month award for December 2021. The list includes young Indian batsman Mayank Agarwal for his brilliant exploits in the month of December.



Besides Mayank Agarwal, ICC also nominated New Zealand spinner Ajaz Patel and Australian left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc for the monthly award.



Agarwal featured in two test matches in the month of December 2021 and scored 276 runs. The cricketer scored two half-centuries and also smacked a century. Agarwal was also adjudged as the ?Player of the Match? in the second test match against New Zealand held in Mumbai?s Wankhede Stadium.

ICC Player of the Month Nominee for November: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday (December 06) announced November?s Player of the Month Award Nominees. The list of three top performers in the month of November includes England?s two World Cup-winning players and a player from Pakistan in the Men?s category.



English skipper Jos Buttler has been named alongside Adil Rashid, who were brilliant with their performance and helped England surge to the T20 World Cup glory. While Buttler remained England?s best batter throughout the tournament, Adil Rashid unleashed his spin web toward the end of the tournament.



Jos Buttler mustered 225 runs in 6 innings which included an unbeaten 80-run knock in the semi-final against India. Moreover, he displayed his full range of shots during the World Cup and spearheaded his side to the coveted glory.



On the other side, Adil Rashid spun his web and controlled the game during the mid-phase in the knockout games. Against team India in the second semi-final, Rashid scalped a wicket by giving away just 20 runs in his quota of 4 overs. The governing body has nominated two in-form batters and one spinner for their stellar performances in the month of April. Out of three players, one is Pakistan batter Fakhar Zaman whereas the other two are New Zealand's Mark Chapman and Sri Lanka's Prabhath Jayasuriya.?Let's take a look at performances of the nominees of the Player of the Month award.

Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman was the standout performer in the month of April. The Southpaw played some fantastic knocks and helped his side win the games. In the first game, he piled up 117 runs in 114 balls and then followed it up with a gigantic unbeaten knock of 180 runs that helped Pakistan chase a target of 337 runs. Not only this he became the overall second-fastest bowler to achieve the feat in the history of the longest format of the game. He picked 17 wickets in the two-match series against Ireland and also picked his career-best figures of 7/52 this month, which saw him getting nominated for the Player of the Month award.?

Australia has suffered a massive blow ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. As per the reports in ESPNCricinfo, it is learned that captain Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood are all set to be ruled out of the tournament, which will begin on 19th February. 
Pat Cummins suffered an ankle injury during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 and missed the ongoing Test tour to injury due to the same and also the birth of his second child. The fast bowler since then has been out of action and hasn't resumed any kind of bowling. 
Pat Cummins hasn't gained his full fitness and it is highly likely that he will be missing the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This will be a massive blow as not only will they miss the quality bowler but also the captain, who took them to win the ICC World Cup 2023. 
In the absence of Pat Cummins, Australia is likely to give the leadership role to either Travis Head or Steve Smith. The latter has been leading the team in the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka, and under his leadership, Australia won the first game of the series by a massive margin. 
The development was confirmed by Australia head coach Andrew McDonald, saying that Pat Cummins is highly likely to be unavailable. He also talked about giving leadership roles to Steve Smith and Travis Head. Speaking to SEN, he said:
"Pat Cummins hasn't been able to resume any type of bowling so he's heavily unlikely, so that would mean that we do need a captain. Steve Smith and Travis Head are the two that we've been having conversations with while we've been building out that Champions Trophy team along with Pat back home. They'll be the two that we look at for that leadership post." 
<h2>Josh Hazlewood is expected to be ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025</h2>
Apart from Pat Cummins, star pacer Josh Hazlewood also is expected to be ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The fast bowler is battling with a hip issue, which he faced in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He, too, hasn't bowled since then and is against time to recover. 
His absence could be a big blow as well as he has been one of the consistent players for the team. Pat Cummins, along with Hazlewood, are now among the three Australia players to be ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Earlier, Mitchell Marsh was ruled out of the tournament.

In what promises to be an exciting and thrilling contest, Steve Smith-led Australia and Dhananjaya de Silva's Sri Lanka are set to lock horns versus each other in the second and the last match of the two-match Test-Series at the Galle International Stadium of Galle from the 6th of February onwards (Wednesday). 
In the opening encounter of the series, the Mighty Aussies secured a comfortable victory by an inning and 242 runs and this win helped them to take an unassailable lead of 1-0 in the two-match series. In such a situation, the Dhananjaya de Silva-led Sri Lanka would be looking to make a strong comeback by rectifying their mistakes in the second match.
