ICC WTC Final: After the two staggering editions of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC), it?s time to move ahead to the third essay of the championship. Talking about the Indian cricket team, they have reached the final of the&nbsp;ICC World Test Championship (WTC) two consecutive times and would be hoping to complete a century. They lost the summit clash of the first edition against New Zealand and are currently facing Australia in the final of the ICC WTC Final 2023.&nbsp;



Talking about their fixtures for the next edition of the World Test Championship, they will be facing tough challenges as all their six series are against the top teams. The Indian team will host England, New Zealand and Bangladesh at home and will travel to West Indies, South Africa and Australia.&nbsp;

For them, the third edition of the World Test Championship will begin from the away series against West Indies in July this year. The Rohit Sharma-led side is slated to play two games in the Caribbean this year. After that, they will tour South Africa in December for two-Test series.?



They are also scheduled to travel to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2024-25. This time it?ll be five-Test series between the two cricketing giants. The schedule for the home series against England, New Zealand and Bangladesh is yet to be announced.&nbsp;

WTC 2023?25: Points Table and Standings | World Test Championship 2023-25 - Australia and India squared off in the World Test Championship 2023 championship game. Both the Indian squad and the ITC fans found it disappointing as the Australian team outclassed India in the finals. Now, with the WTC Trophy in their hands, the Australian team is the only one that have won every ICC trophy&nbsp;thus&nbsp;far.



The Indian squad did not experience defeat for the first time. The team had already advanced to the World Test Championship 2019?21 final before this. But even there, the New Zealand squad, led by Kane Williamson, defeated the Indian team, who had to accept defeat.



The 2023-25 World Test Championship has started with The Ashes i.e. between England and Australia. A five-match Test series will be played between these two countries. At the same time, the Indian team will start with the West Indies tour where they have to play two Test matches.



The competition has 68 games divided across 27 series slated for the league stage over a two-year period. The final, which will take place at Lord's in London, will include the top two teams in the points rankings. Three home and three away series will be played by each team. There will be two to five test matches in each series. 12 to 22 matches will be played by each participant.

Pakistan came to bat in the last inning, and they lost a couple of wickets in the early few overs, but Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam were on the crease, and they needed only 83 runs to win the match.

Shan Masood will be the new captain of the Pakistan Men's Cricket Team as Babar Azam resigned after the poor performance of the team in the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023. Pakistan played nine matches and they were able to win only four games whereas they lost the remaining games.&nbsp;



The Three match Test series between Pakistan and Australia is very important for the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 Cycle as the series winning team will occupy the top position in the WTC Points Table.?

Saim Ayub gets a maiden call for Pakistan's test team in the upcoming series against Australia. He is expected to play the first test match against Australia on December 14, 2023.



Khurram Shahzad, a fast bowler also got a maiden call in the test squad for the Australia tour. Khurram Shahzad performed wonderfully in the Quaid-e-Azam trophy as he was the leading wicket-taker of the tournament.

ICC WTC Points Table Updated after IND vs RSA 1st Test: South Africa started off the 2-match Test Series against India on a winning note as they managed to defeat The Men in Blue by an innings and 32 runs in the Boxing Day Test match at Centurion. This win against India means that the Proteas have made their way to the top of the WTC 2023-25 cycle points table with a points percentage of 100% as the South Africans managed to get all 12 points from the 1st test match.



Opener Dean Elgar?s knock of 185 runs and Marco Jansen?s fighting knock of 84 runs allowed the Proteas to post 408 runs on the board and took a lead of 163 runs, which was enough for the South Africans as the bowling trio of Kagiso Rabada, Marco Jansen, and Nandre Burger did not allow the Indian batters to settle down at the crease and managed to all out the Men in Blue for 131 runs and helped the Proteas win the 1st test.



India, who were at the top of the WTC points table, have fallen to the 5th position with a points percentage of 44.44%. The Men in Blue are ahead of Australia in the overall standings, but that might change if the Aussies manage to defeat Pakistan in the second test match.



The Men in Blue have managed to win just a single test match in SENA Nations in the previous 2 years, with the last win coming in the Boxing Day Test at Centurion in 2021 against South Africa. Since then, India has lost 3 matches in South Africa and 2 matches in England, including the 2023 WTC final against Australia.



India were not good with the bat at all as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, and Shubman Gill struggled against the South African pacers, while except Bumrah and Siraj, no other bowler troubled the batters of South Africa. KL Rahul's century in the 1st inning and Virat's fighting knock of 76 runs were not enough to prevent India from suffering a humiliating defeat in the 1st test against South Africa.



The Proteas lead the series 1-0, and India's dream of winning their first test series in South Africa will not come true this time.

ICC WTC Points Table Updated after IND vs RSA 3rd Test: The two-match Freedom Test Series between India and South Africa ended in a draw, with both teams winning one game each. The Proteas dominated the Rohit Sharma-led side in the Boxing Day Test at Centurion, and in Cape Town, the Men in Blue bounced back in impressive fashion to defeat South Africa in the second test match. The second test match got over in just two days, as just 463 runs were scored and 33 wickets fell in the span of 2 days.



The Cape Town test match was all about the bowlers, as the seamers dominated the entire game. Mohammed Siraj took a six-wicket haul with figures of 6-15 next to his name as South Africa got all out for just 55 runs in their first inning. The Proteas bounced back in superb fashion as the trio of Kagiso Rabada (3-38), Lungi Ngidi (3-30), and Nandre Burger (3-42) wreaked havoc and dismissed the entire Indian batting unit for 153 runs.



However, South Africa didn't bat well in their second inning, as no other batter except Aiden Markram (106 runs) was able to trouble the Indian bowling unit. Jasprit Bumrah took his ninth 5-wicket haul as he finished the 2nd inning with figures of 6-61 and was supported pretty well by Mukesh Kumar (2-56) as the Indian bowlers restricted the Proteas for 176 runs in their 2nd inning and the Men in Blue chased down a target of 79 runs easily and won the second test match comfortably by 7 wickets.

The first test match will begin on January 25.



The Proteas, after one win and one defeat, have dropped to the second spot in the WTC standings as they have 12 points in 2 games with a PCT of 50%. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has issued a warning to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over the jersey controversy ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This comes after the Indian governing body refused to write 'Pakistan' on their kits for the tournament. 
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is all set to be hosted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is scheduled to begin on 19th February. The preparations for the tournament are on, and the ICC and the PCB are taking every step possible to make sure that everything is right on track. 
However, a controversy recently erupted after BCCI refused to write Pakistan on their jersey for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Notably, every participating nation, as per the ICC policy, has to write the name of the host nation below the logo of the tournament on their jersey. 
After BCCI refused to sport it, Pakistan Cricket Board officials made a strong statement, saying that BCCI is trying to use politics in every matter. He, however, mentioned that they are hopeful that ICC will support them and India will be asked to write the name of the jersey on their kits for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. 
<h2>It is the responsibility of every team to add the tournament logo to their jerseys - ICC official </h2>
Following this, BCCI also reacted, and the insider from the governing body said that since they are playing in Dubai, it isn't mandatory for them to wear the 'Pakistan written jersey'. The BCCI also stressed that they didn't write Pakistan's name on the podium of the Trophy tours as well. 
Amid all this, ICC has come up with a strong response for the BCCI. An ICC official mentioned that it is the responsibility of the host nation to add the tournament logo to their jersey. He stated: 
"It is the responsibility of every team to add the tournament logo to their jerseys. All teams are obligated to comply with this rule," an ICC official said as per A-Sports, as quoted by NDTV. 
Not only this, it is learned that the ICC also warned BCCI that they would be taking strict action if they didn't wear the Pakistan-written jersey during the tournament.
