India vs England T20I: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced the Indian squad for the five-match T20I series against England. IPL stars Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan and Rahul Tewatia have earned a maiden call-up for the national T20 side.



All the three players had performed tremendously in the previous edition IPL due to which the selectors have rewarded them the Indian T20I slot. The two former players played a key role for Mumbai Indians and win the game while the latter proved his worth playing for Rajasthan Royals.



Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, all-rounder Axar Patel and pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar are also in the squad for the T20Is against England, starting next month.



The series will begin on 12th March and the selectors have picked up new domestic faces in order to test them ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup which is slated later this year.



Fans and the commentators were really disappointed with the selectors for not picking Suryakumar Yadav in the Australian tour but his long wait has ended and he will wear India?s blue jersey in the upcoming T20I series.



Ishan Kishan had the best IPL season so far in his career. The left-handed batsman emerged as the highest run-getter for the defending champions and played some crucial knocks.&nbsp;



Kishan also showed his performance in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. He slammed massive 173 runs in 94 balls playing for Jharkhand and thrashed Madhya Pradesh easily in the tournament opener.



While Rahul Tewatia stole the limelight in the match against Kings XI Punjab where he pulled off a blinder for his side smacking West Indies bowler Sheldon Cottrell five sixes in an over. The over turned the tables and Rajasthan Royals won the impossible-looking game in IPL 2020.



Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav has been dropped along with wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson and Manish Pandey. While the Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has been rested to manage the work-load.



Mohammad Shami and Ravindra Jadeja are not included in the 19 men-squad due to failure in recovery from the injuries.

India vs England T20Is: BCCI asks players selected for T20Is to report in Ahmedabad on 1st March.



India vs England T20Is: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday asked the players who are selected for the upcoming T20I series against England to report in Ahmedabad on 1st March. BCCI recently announced the Indian squad for the India-England T20I series and three new boys were given the maiden call up.



Shikhar Dhawan who is currently competing in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy for Delhi will also have to leave the tournament mid-way and report to BCCI in Ahmedabad. Apart from Dhawan, Surya Kumar Yadav, wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan and all-rounder Rahul Tewatia are also playing the 50-over domestic tournament and are asked to report on March 1.



Surya Kumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan and Rahul Tewatia got their maiden India call up in the upcoming series. All three players impressed everyone with their heated performance in the IPL 2020.



The T20 series will begin on March 12 and the final T20 game will be played on March 20. All the games will be held in Ahmedabad only due to complications of Covid-19.&nbsp; Both the teams will play five T20 games in the given period.&nbsp;



"Shikhar is supposed to report in Ahmedabad along with others on March 1. As far as we know, all the white ball specialists have been asked to play 2 to 3 games to be in touch as they will again enter a new bubble with all the COVID-19 protocols in place," a senior DDCA official told PTI on condition of anonymity.?

India vs England T20Is: Jofra Archer might miss the first T20I against India in Ahmedabad.



India vs England T20Is: English pacer Jofra Archer is likely to miss out on the opener of the T20I series against India due to an elbow injury. Archer had to sit back in the dressing room in the fourth and last test against India due to the injury.



English head coach Chris Silverwood in the recent video conference said that Jofra will be continuously monitored by the medical team and further call will be taken after their reports.



The pacer also missed the second test, however, England said that it was due to rotation policy and the injury had no previous records.



"Jofra's elbow did flare up a little bit and the medical staff are managing that at the moment," Silverwood said.



?The medical experts are working with him. He has trained with the white ball squad today. We will be monitoring his situation.?



Silverwood wants Archer to be fit for all forms of cricket. He said, ?I want him to have a long and successful career in all the forms of cricket.? When asked about limited the number of overs for him, Silverwood replied, ?That?s not something I can predict right now. We will have to take a call after assessing his progress and with coordination with the medical team. It will be out in the course of time.?



It remains to be seen if Archer will participate in the white ball leg or go back and have surgery. He is a vital player for the Englishmen and his absence might create an irreplaceable void in the team.



India and England will lock horns for the T20I series. The five-game T20I series will begin on 12th March in Ahmedabad. All the five-game will be played in the revamped Narendra Modi Stadium. Both the team will then move out for the ODI leg. Pune will be hosting the 50 overs game.

India vs England T20I: England wicket-keeper batsman Sam Billings reckons IPL 2021 will help in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup later this year. The cricketer later conceded that he will get limited game time due to high competition inside Delhi Capitals.



The ICC T20 World Cup 2021 is slated to be conducted in India later this year. Around October and November, the tournament will be conducted for which the schedule and venues are not disclosed.

India vs England T20Is: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Gujrat Cricket Association (GCA) have decided to allow spectators for the five games T20I series against England. According to GCA, 50 per-cent crowd will be present in revamped Narendra Modi Stadium for the five T20Is.



India and England are scheduled to play a five-game T20I series at Narendra Modi Stadium, starting Friday.



?We are going to use only 50% seating capacity at the Narendra Modi Stadium for all the T20 International matches to be played here due to COVID-19 pandemic,? Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) vice-president Dhanraj Nathwani said in a media release.



Earlier, in the test series, GCA allowed fans to cheer for their favourite players in Narendra Modi Stadium. However, due to a recent surge in the covid-19 cases, it was expected that the games will be held behind the closed gates. Only the first game in Chennai was held without fans due to limited time for all the required protocols.



The newly revamped Narendra Modi Stadium have a seating capacity of 132,000 fans at a time.



GCA vice president also said that all the necessary covid-19 protocols are being followed by the responsible staff to ensure the safety of all the fans and cricketers.



?The entire stadium has been sanitized considering the safety of the spectators. All COVID-19 guidelines are being strictly adhered to and special task force committees have been set up to ensure that all required safety measures are implemented and followed,? he added.

India vs England T20Is: Mystery Spinner Varun Chakravarthy losses his T20I spot upon failing in the fitness test. Chakravarthy was brought into India?s T20 side after missing out on Australia tour due to shoulder injury. However, according to PTI, he has failed to live upto team India?s fitness standard.?



Varun Chakravarthy played for KKR last season and was one of the best spinners for the management. Venky Mysore, CEO of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) seems to be unhappy with the decision of management to rule him out of the whole T20I series.



Mysore opined that ?cricket would have lost many greats if the current standards were followed?.



"@bhogleharsha he has more skills than most we have seen, but may be a few seconds slower in a sprint...I wonder how many greats of yesteryears, cricket would have lost, based on the current ?standards?!" he wrote on Twitter.

The leg-spinner will have to repeat his performance in the forthcoming Indian T20 League or have to do even better than the previous season in order to get the national call-up again. It would be reasonably difficult for the spinner to break into the squad against the likes of Kuldeep Yadav, Rahul Chahar and Mayank Markandey.



Talking about Varun Chakravarthy, Virat Kohli in the recent video conference made it loud and clear to maintain a good fitness standard. If they want to come into the side, they will have to be fit and be in their best shape.



?Look individuals need to understand the system that has been created for the Indian Cricket Team,? said Virat Kohli.



?We should operate at a very high level of fitness and skills that is why this Indian team is at the top of the ladder when playing cricket.?



It is not the first time when players have lost their spot on the national side after failing in fitness test. Back in 2018 Mohammad Shami, Ambati Rayudu and Sanju Samson had to go with the same situation. However, all of them came back stronger and lived up to team India?s fitness standards and got their places back.



According to sources close to BCCI, players have to score 17.1 in the fitness test or complete a 2 KM run in 8 minutes and 30 seconds. For the pacers, the time is cut down to just 8 minutes and 15 seconds.

India vs England 1st T20I: Team India continued to lose the first encounter of the series yet again in the five-game T20I series. A magnificent showcase of bowling by England restricted India to a low total in the first game and eventually won the game by eight wickets. With the win, England goes up in the five games T20I series 1-0.



?It was a below-par batting performance and England made us pay,? Virat Kohli said in the post-match presentation.



Shreyas Iyer amassed half of the team runs, producing his best T20I innings of 67 from 48 balls including 8 fours and a six. However, the English bowler?s accurate and strict line and length didn?t let India take off in the course of 20 overs. Star Jofra Archer picked three wickets and received Man of the Match.



Virat Kohli lost the toss and Eoin Morgan invited them to bat first. A very unusual decision to keep in-form Rohit Sharma out of the side for a couple of games by Virat Kohli. That means KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan will open the innings.



Both the opener looked under pressure and played wrong shots to get dismissed. Virat Kohli continues to be in his lean phase with batting. The skipper scored another duck in the international format. It is noteworthy that Kohli has been dismissed three times in a duck in the last four innings.

Jason Roy (49 off 32 balls) fell one short of his half-century off Washington Sundar while Jos Buttler (28 off 24) was trapped in Yuzvendra Chahal?s leg-break.



In the end, Dawid Malan and Jhonny Bairstow did all the simple work to win the game. Malan finished the game in style with a six off Washington Sundar.

Indian top-order comprising of KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli returned in mere 5th over of the first innings. All the players played poor shorts before reading the pitch.



?We just weren?t aware of what we had to do on that pitch, lack of execution on our shots and something we have to address,? Kohli said after going down by eight wickets.

The skipper was delighted and pleased with Shreyas Iyer?s knock that helped India put a total on board.



?Shreyas showed how to use the crease and ride the bounce. Below par batting performance and England made us play. We looked to try a few things but having said that you have to accept the conditions.



?If the surface is good enough to hit, then you must go on but before that, you have to access it completely. We didn?t do that, Shreyas did but unfortunately, we were 4 wickets down by then.?



When asked whether switching from the Test format was the reason for India?s failure, Kohli said, ?That should not be any factor. We have won our last couple of T20I series. These are the five T20I game before the World Cup and we cant take England lightly.?



The winning captain, Eoin Morgan was pleased with the kind of play they had. Brilliant batting by players and on top of that sensational bowling to restrict India on 124.
