India vs South Africa first ODI: The first of the three match India vs South Africa ODI series between ended up in possibly the most intense fashions with the visitors registering a fine win. Quality batting performances assisted by some brilliant work with the ball in hand saw a solid South African side edge past the inexperienced hosts in a thrilling encounter by 9 runs. With Majority of India's players already on their way to Australia the team was being lead by Shikhar Dhawan who was captaining a side filled with a bunch of youngsters. The match though didn't end in India's favour consisted of several events filled with twists and turns much of which shall not be conveyed merely by the scorecard.&nbsp;



The Indian captain, Shikhar Dhawan asked the Proteas to bat first after winning the toss. The match was reduced to 40 overs per side due to rain interruptions early on. South Africa were off to a positive start as the opening duo of Malan and De Kock saw the hosts through during the first phase of the batting innings. India had their first breakthrough at the score of 49 when&nbsp; Shardul Thakur dismissed Malan for 22. He struck again a couple overs later to remove the skipper, Bavuma for 8. The spinners were brought into the attack and this soon paid off in terms of the run rate being slowed down.

Markram was trapped by Kuldeep Yadav for 1 with South Africa down to 71 for 3. A well set Quinton De Kock too was dismissed for 48 after a brief partnership with Heinrich Klaasen. It was then that the lower middle order duo of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heinrich_Klaasen">Klaasen</a> and Miller lead South Africa's fightback as they started to steer the innings forward again. The duo showed brilliant resilience to first see through the tough times and then go for the big shots. The duo added a fascinating 139 runs off 106 balls to help South Africa post a total of 249/4.



India had the worst possible start to their chase with both the openers (Dhawan and Gill) being sent back for single digit scores. The opening spell from Rabada and Parnell proved to be too good for the Indians as they barely managed to match the required run rate during the majority of the first phase of their innings.The introduction of spinners saw more damage being inflicted upon the hosts as debutant Ruturaj Gaikwad stitched a clumsy looking partnership of 40 runs with Ishan Kishan before being dismissed for 19. Ishan Kishan too was dismissed next over with India in a spot of bother at 51/4.&nbsp;

Shreyas Iyer in at no.5 along with Sanju Samson started rebuilding India's chase with some confident strokes. The duo added some brisk runs at quick rate with Iyer leading the charge in particular with a fine fifty off just 33 balls. However with his dismissal shortly after meant the Indian hopes were almost finished. Sanju Samson however took matters into his own hand as he started to help India find its way back into the game. He beautifully steered the run chase forward at first with Shardul Thakur, who also assisted the man from Kerala with some good shots. The duo added a sensational 93 runs before Thakur's dismissal for 33.



With the run rate soaring up higher than ever Sanju Samson decided to take the bowlers on all by himself. After bringing up a fine fifty he found the big shots effortlessly towards the death. However the total seemed to be too big at last for the right hander with absolutely no help from the other end as he finished with a magnificent 86 off just 63 with India losing the India vs South Africa match by 9 runs. Ngidi started with the ball for his side as he picked up a fine 3-fer. Heinrich Klaasen was awarded the man of the match in the 1st India vs South Africa ODI of the series for his unbeaten 74 with the bat.

India vs South Africa: India registered a fine series levelling when over South Africa in the second of the three-match India vs South Africa ODI series at the JSCA International Stadium. Some extraordinary batting performances from the home side helped them seal a convincing win in a highly intense game. 



The proteas meanwhile were let down this time, unlike the previous game where they managed to get all their strategies perfectly alright. A win by 7 wickets for India means that the third ODI will now be a highly significant one for both the teams to win in order to seal the three-match series hereon.



South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first with the intention of repeating their good performances with the bat just like in the first game. South Africa didn't have the perfect start as Quinton De Kock was dismissed for just 5 in the third over by Mohammed Siraj. 



Janeman Malan tried to stabilise the innings with some steady shots but he too was dismissed by Shahbaz Ahmed against the run of play with South Africa two down for 40. It was at this moment that Reeza Hendricks along with Aiden Markram who was in at no.4 started to take the attack on the opposition bowlers.&nbsp;

The duo displayed superb resistance under tough circumstances to add 129 runs in as many balls. Both the batters smashed brilliant fifties to take the command during the middle overs. The partnership came to an end with Reeza Hendricks being dismissed for 74. Double strikes from the Indian bowlers in the 38th and 39th over saw South Africa lose Aiden Markam and Heinrich Klaasen each of whom was set batters at that time.&nbsp;



David Miller held one end firmly but it didn't help his side anyways because no other players managed to stand and score the much-important runs to provide the Proteas with a good finish. This led to South Africa to a total of 278/7 in 50 overs in the 2nd India vs South Africa ODI. 



India didn't have the perfect start to their run chase as they lost Shikhar Dhawan early once again. Shubman Gill who looked in fine rhythm was also sent back by Rabada with India's score under 50. However, what followed was absolute carnage by the Indian batters. Ishan Kishan along with Shreyas Iyer showed excellent abilities to handle the situation as they absolutely ran riot against the opposition bowlers.&nbsp;



The left-right combination never let the bowlers settle their line and lengths as the duo continued to pile on the runs and add to South Africa's misery in the 2nd India vs South Africa ODI. The batters had both smashed fantastic fifties and added on an incredible amount of 161 runs for the third wicket when Ishan Kishan was dismissed for 93 falling just 7 runs short of a well-deserved century.&nbsp;



However, Shreyas Iyer didn't stop as he went on to bring up his second ODI century as he finished with 113 not out of 111 balls. He found able support from Sanju Samson at the other end who scored a breezy 30. India, with this win will now be battling it out against the Proteas in the decider match (India vs South Africa 3rd ODI) at the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arun_Jaitley_Stadium">Arun Jaitley stadium</a> on 11th October.

Australian Women's National Cricket Team's experienced opening batter Beth Mooney has successfully won the ICC Women's Player of the Month award for January of 2025 thanks to her impressive performances during the Women's Ashesh 2025 series versus England
The left-handed batter saw off the competition from the duo of West Indian spinner Karishma Ramharack and Indian Cricket Team's U-19 star Trisha Gongdi to win the prestigious monthly accolade. 
This is also the first time in her career that Mooney has won the player of the month award and the second consecutive monthly award for an Aussie star after in-form all-round Annabel Sutherland won the award in December of 2024.

The opener started off the ODI series slowly but she bounced back in awesome fashion with a brilliant fifty in the third One-Day International in Hobart. After the Kangaroos lost four wickets for a mere score or 59 runs, the 31-year-old played an incredible knock of 50 runs in 64 deliveries to give the Heather Knight-led team a tough fight and set the stage for the hosts to post a score of 308 runs in 50 overs and secure the victory in the contest. 
In the T20 International series, Mooney carried on with her good form, scoring 213 runs at an amazing strike rate or 146.89 and cemented her position as the top-ranked batter. She scored 75 runs in 44 balls before going on to smash an unbeaten 94 runs off 63 deliveries in Adelaide, her highest score in the shortest format of the game in five years, to guide the Kangaroos to a dominant series victory versus their Fierce-Rivals.
She also won the Player-of-the-Match accolade for her incredible performances in both the first &amp; the last T20 International games of the series and she also ended the series as the highest run getter.

He had informed management of this prior to Saurashtra's Vijay Hazare Trophy fixture against Punjab on December 31. Sheldon Jackson was an amazing player he ended his List A career with 2792 runs from 84 innings at an average of 36.25. The wicket-keeper batter also tallied 1812 runs from 80 T20s,
Sheldon Jackson also played nine games for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL match, and their performance was very amazing. He scored 61 runs at an average of 10.17, with a highest score of 16 runs. His strike rate stands at 107.02, with 5 fours and 1 six.
His achievements also include the 2022-23 Vijay Hazare Trophy season. In 86 List A matches scored a total of 2792 runs, including nine centuries and 14 fifties. In T20s, Sheldon Jackson scored 1812 runs from 84 matches, including one century and eleven half-centuries.
When Jackson announced his retirement, he also said, "I still want to keep going in first-class cricket, at least for these two games, and then take it from there. I really don't know for how long. But my immediate focus is to try and see if I can help contribute towards us making the knockouts. It's tough, but it's still possible. Jomel Warrican, the slow left-arm orthodox spinner of the West Indies has been crowned ICC Men's Player of the Month for January of 2025, thanks to his brilliant performance with the ball in the two-match Test Series versus Pakistan. 
The ICC Player of the Month award recognizes the outstanding individual displays and performances of the players at the highest level of Cricket and the nominees selected for the month of January were all spin bowlers who excelled across various formats of the game. 
Warrican faced tough competition from India's mystery leg spinner Varun Chakaravarthy and Noman Ali of Pakistan. The West Indian spinner delivered the best performance of his career with the ball versus the Shaheens and helped his team draw the two-match series. 
In the first Test-Match, the 32-year-old ended the match with figures of 10-101 to his name which also turned out to be the best bowling figures of his career in the longest format of the game and with the bat, he played an unbeaten knock of 31* runs. 
In the second match of the series, he carried forward his good momentum of the first contest into the second one and delivered yet another amazing performance, as he dismissed four Pakistani batters in the first inning and followed it up with a fifer in the second inning, ending the match with figures of 9-70.
In addition to his terrific performance with the ball, the 32-year-old also contributed 54 runs with the bat as the Windies marched their way to victory in the second encounter, thereby ensuring the series ended in a draw.  
Overall, Warrican scored a total of 85 runs at a good average of 42.50 and also claimed 19 scalps at an exceptional average of nine, earning him the Man-of-the-Series award.

India captain Rohit Sharma finally returned to form after a lean patch. The opening batter played a magnificent innings in the second ODI of the three-match ODI series England, which took place at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Sunday (9th February).
Rohit Sharma, who was under serious scanner, slammed a magnificent century in the second ODI and helped his team win the game. The senior opener batted with an aggressive mindset right from the start as he took England bowlers to the cleaners and put them under pressure.
