Five Indian Cricketers tested covid-positive post Road Safety World Series.



Road Safety World Series: The list of the former cricketers getting infected with the virus is getting longer with each passing day. Earlier Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar informed that he is positive for coronavirus post which Yusuf Pathan and Subramaniam Badrinath also revealed that they too are infected with the virus.



On Tuesday, Yusuf Pathan?s brother Irfan Pathan also revealed that he too is tested covid positive post the Road Safety World Series taking the list count of covid infected cricketers to 4.

According to these cricketers, all of them are showing mild symptoms and are stable. They are in managed home isolation on doctor's advice.



It is noteworthy that all these names were part of the Road Safety World Series 2021. The series was held in Raipur between the former cricketers of various nations.



Apart from Indian Legends, West Indies Legends, Sri Lanka Legends, England Legends, South Africa Legends and Bangladesh Legends were also part of the series.



The series was held with spectators cheering from the stadiums. As per the reports, all the safety protocols were following during the games.

Team India?s Women?s T20 skipper Harmanpreet Kaur is also tested positive for coronavirus. According to the doctors he is having mild symptoms.

She was a part of the ODI series against South Africa and sustained an injury in the fifth ODI and she was ruled out of the following T20I series.&nbsp;



?She is self-isolating at home. She got tested yesterday and the report came positive today morning. She had mild fever since four days so thought it was best to get tested. She is doing fine otherwise and should recover soon,? a source close to the player told PTI.

ENGvsIND: Ever Since the England vs India test series kicked off, there has been a lot of talks revolving around Indian skipper Virat Kohli?s form in the longest format of cricket. A lot of questions are raised pointing out his techniques to play or leave a delivery outside off stump. Amidst all this, former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan hits out on the cricketer and said Virat?s aggressive nature is causing trouble for him and India.

An analysis of Virat?s dismissal shows a similar pattern where the opposition bowling attack constantly tries to use the off-stump and outside off stump line to force Virat to put some bat on the ball which eventually takes a thick edge and carries to the wicketkeeper and the slip cordon.



Anjum Chopra, former Indian women cricket, also featured in the video, shared her views on Virat Kohli?s struggle run in the English conditions.



?He also knows that he has to score runs. But the thing about error-free batting, that he will make a statement is putting more weight on his shoulders and maybe not allowing him to move freely. I feel he needs to bring his standard slightly lower than the error-free batting he is trying to do,? Anjum said.



It will be interesting to see if Virat makes a few amendments to his batting when he comes on for the fourth test match at Oval. A few glimpses of him returning back to his form were seen in the second innings of the Headingley test match where he scored a fifty but failed to convert it to three figures.



As of now after three test matches, India vs England test series is levelled at 1-1. The fourth test match will begin on 2nd September at Kennington Oval.

This time the contest will be held at the Newlands Stadium in Cape Town, starting January 03.

Prasidh Krishna didn't have a memorable outing in his debut match. The pacer conceded runs at an economy of 4.70 and could only pick a solitary wicket.



"If you're Rohit Sharma and you want to go with the same bowling attack, that's also fine. But if you're thinking of making a change, Mukesh Kumar could come in for Prasidh Krishna. But if you feel Prasidh is confident in the nets, then he should be backed for the second Test," he added.

T20 World Cup 2024: The 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is in full flow, as the season has gotten off to a wonderful start as the ten IPL teams battle it out against each other to get their hands on the precious IPL Trophy. But, there is one topic that will dominate the discussions during the 2024 Tata IPL, which is the ICC T20 World Cup, 2024, as the tournament is going to start just five days after the conclusion of IPL 2024.



India?s squad for this year's mega event is slated to be announced in the final week of April. All the Indian players would be looking to perform well in IPL 2024, which will help them cement their spots in India's squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup.



Former Indian pace bowling all-rounder Irfan Pathan, in an interview with ESPNcricinfo, picked the Men in Blue's likely squad for this year's mega event. In his squad, he mentioned the importance of Virat Kohli for the Indian squad and completely quashed the rumors of him getting dropped from the team in the shortest format of the game.



Alongside Rohit and Virat, the younger Pathan also included the likes of Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Rinku Singh, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, and all these players will be expected to handle the Indian batting unit. Pathan also included Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja as the all-rounders but left out the likes of Shivam Dube, Axar Patel and Washington Sundar.



The most controversial topic for the squad of the Rohit Shamra led team is the position of the wicketkeeper, as no player has cemented his place as a wicketkeeper. Irfan wants to see the return of Rishabh Pant to the Men in Blue squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup and has also included Jitesh Sharma and KL Rahul as backups. He said that at least two of these players must board India's flight to the USA and West Indies for the 2024 T20 World Cup. He didn't find any space for the likes of Ishan Kishan, RR Captain Sanju Samson, and Dhruv Jurel in his predicted squad.

The 39-year-old took a straight forward decision to include the wrist-spin duo of Ravi Bishnoi and Kuldeep Yadav in his team, as the duo have been regularly featuring for the Men in Blue in the shortest format of the game since the end of the 2023 ODI World Cup. RR leggie Yuzvendra Chahal was not able to find a space in Irfan?s team. Yuzi has not featured in any game for India since August 2023.



Talking about the pace bowling department, the experienced duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj made the cut in Irfan Pathan?s team. But, he made a surprise inclusion of LSG seamer Mohsin Khan as the third-pace bowler. The 39-year-old said that one of Mohsin or Arshdeep should get picked in India's squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Prithvi Shaw did not find any takers as the Mumbai batter went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction. Prithvi, who had a base price of Rs 75 lakh in the auction, was released by Delhi Capitals but he did not attract any bids from the ten franchises.
Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal has said that Prithvi Shaw is misunderstood in many ways but needed a 'jolt' in the form of the IPL 2025 Auction snub. Shaw has been part of the Delhi franchise since returning as the U-19 World Cup winning captain in 2018 and was bought for 1.2 Crores. Ahead of the 2022 auction, the Mumbai batter was retained by DC for Rs. 7.5 Crore but the past few seasons hasn't been great for the 25-year-old.
Speaking to Sports Today, Jindal said that Shaw is a great kid but needed a jolt to get up from his slumber. The DC co-owner feels that Shaw needs to work hard, get back the love of the game and get disciplined. Jindal ended by saying he hopes the Mumbai batter can return back to his best form
Delhi has backed Prithvi Shaw a lot. DC had hoped that he is a powerplay player and would hit 6 boundaries in one over. And he did that too. He hit Shivam Mavi for 6 fours in an over. He had a lot of potential and DC backed him to the hilt. We always thought that if Shaw manages to score, we will win. And we gave him a lot of chances," Kaif told on Jio Cinema.

Prithvi got a lot of chances and teams have now finally moved on, and it is a matter of embarrassment that he did not get a bid for Rs 75 lakh. Maybe now, he finally goes back to basics. Someone like Sarfaraz Khan got into the national team by scoring lots and lots of runs," he concluded.
In the 79 matches he has played, Shaw has scored 1892 runs at an average of 23.95 and a strike-rate of 147.47. He also scored 14 fifties during this time.

The MI Emirates produced a clinical display with the bat and the ball, handing the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders a 28-run defeat at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in the Match 14 of International League T20 (ILT20) 2025 on Tuesday, January 21.
MI Emirates got off to a strong start when they were asked to bat first, with openers Muhammad Waseem (38) and Kusal Perera making a strong stand at the top. The Sri Lankan Perera was the first to leave for 23 soon before the powerplay ended, following a 42-run partnership between the two players. Tom Banton entered, and he and Waseem made sure the MI Emirates maintained the run rate.
Banton was out for nine around the halfway point of the innings, while Waseem was out for 38 shortly after. Kieron Pollard replaced skipper Nicholas Pooran, but the seasoned right-hander struggled to get going and was eventually sent out for five by Ali Khan. With just over 6 overs remaining, the score was at 102/4.
Following Dan Mousley's dismissal for six, Romario Shepherd joined his skipper for the innings' last stretch. Jason Holder made a solid 49, but Pooran, who was hitting it cleanly, was almost at his half-century before he fell.

Shepherd was given more attention in the last few overs as a result. In second inning with openers Kyle Mayers and Andries Gous attacking the MI Emirates bowlers, the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders got off to a fast start. Before Dan Mousley ran him out with a brilliant bit of fielding, Mayers, who hit three sixes, scored 22 off 14 deliveries.
 
The MI Emirates seized control after that, finishing a 39-run partnership in the fourth over in second inning.
Following Joe Clarke's dismissal by Akeal Hosein for three, Romario Shepherd took out Michael-Kyle Pepper for five and Alishan Sharafu for four. The Abu Dhabi Knight Riders were 56/4 at the conclusion of a thrilling Powerplay.
The Abu Dhabi Knight Riders were further put under pressure after Waqar Salamkheil dismissed Laurie Evans for seven and Zahoor Khan caught Gous in the deep for thirty-four. Hopes of a recovery were raised when Sunil Narine and Andre Russell were called to the middle and embarked on a half-century stand.
But Narine was caught at cover for 13 in the 18th over, and David Willey was dismissed by Fazalhaq Farooqi in the 19th. The MI Emirates won easily, and Russell, who was still undefeated at 37 from 23 deliveries, was unable to lead his team across the finish line.

IND vs ENG: Former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has announced his playing XI for the first T20I against England. The match between the two teams is all set to take place on Wednesday (22nd January) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
India and England will be locking horns with each other in the five-match T20I series. Both teams have a mixed combination of seniors and youngsters in the team, and with the way they have played of late, it's fair to say that it will be an exciting series to watch. 
Coming to the first T20I, Ravichandran Ashwin backed Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma to open the innings for the team. The duo has been doing a decent job together as an opener and would be hoping to carry on the same form in the upcoming first match. 
Sanju Samson was at his exceptional best in the T20Is last year as he slammed three tons. While on the other hand, Abhishek Sharma hasn't been able to maintain consistency. Hence the series will be extremely important for him with the bat.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is around the corner and all the teams have named their squad for the tournament except the hosts Pakistan. The Men in Green are yet to announce the team even though the deadline of 12th January has already been surpassed by a long margin. 
India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan have all revealed their squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This has made many speculate about why Pakistan isn't announcing their squad for the tournament, which is less than one month away. 
There have been several reports that Pakistan will be announcing their squad for the tournament soon. They are awaiting the fitness of a few players, and hence, they will soon be naming the team. No, it isn't, just unsure what to do and what not). The biggest issue is whether Saim Ayub can return fit or not. It's still not clear." 
It remains to be seen when will Pakistan announce the squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament is all set to take place from 19th February, with the final all set to be played on 9th March.
