The U19 World Cup 2024 semifinal 1 was a pure entertainer where the game was wavering throughout the course of 50 overs of the chase. India U19 who have always batted first in the tournament took a bold decision of bowling first in the semifinal after winning the toss. 



South Africa's offensive play in the early and late stages of their innings allowed them to attain a respectable score despite a significant slowdown in the middle overs. The home team posted the target of 245 in 50 overs courtesy of 64 from Richard and 76 from wicketkeeper-batter Pritorious.



Even after losing four wickets for thirty-two runs in 12 overs, Sachin Dhas and captain Uday Saharan managed to hold onto the crease. After they forged a strong partnership of more than 170 runs, Saharan and Sachin Dhas's outstanding stand helped India pull off a thrilling chase.

A bit of a fumble towards the end where India lost two wickets for just a run and the skipper also got runout, but Raj Limbani ensured no further damage and took the team home with a boundary. India U19 won the game by two wickets.



Indian youths are exhibiting some of the finest performances on the pitch, which has given them a lot of confidence. In addition to captain Uday Saharan and top-order batsman Musheer Khan, who are in peak form, Sachin Dhas also owns a century and a 96. While left-arm orthodox Saumy Pandey is India's leading wicket-taker in the event, he is receiving strong support from the team's pace attack.



Kwena Maphaka was a tournament mvp for South Africa. He collected three fifers and a total of 21 scalps. With 21 wickets in the competition, the 17-year-old came very close to matching Bangladesh's Enamul Haque Jr.'s (2014) record of 22 wickets for the most wickets in a single Under-19 World Cup edition.

Sachin Dhas holds the third spot. It is quite interesting that the top three ranks of most runs scored are held by Indian batters and that also shows the dominance of India in the tournament. South Africa's Lhuan-Dre&nbsp;PRETORIUS holds the fourth spot with a total of 287 runs and his journey will end here in this tournament.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) recently unveiled the list of shortlisted players for the Player of the Tournament award of the 2024 Under-19 Cricket World Cup on Friday, February 9th. There are eight players on the shortlist, which is dominated by three members of the India Under-19 team: captain Uday Saharan, Saumy Pandey, and Musheer Khan, the younger brother of Sarfaraz Khan. The other players named are Aussie skipper Hugh Weibgen, Pakistani fast bowler Ubaid Shah, West Indian batsman Jewel Andrew, and South Africans Steve Solk and Kwena Maphaka.



Despite not being a part of the Under-19 World Cup Final, South African seamer Kwena Maphaka made a huge impact in this year?s U19 World Cup. The 17-year-old is currently the highest wicket taker in this tournament, with 21 scalps next to his name, which include three five wicket hauls. Kwena also managed to dismiss the likes of Adarsh Singh (0 runs), in-form batter Sachin Dhas (96 runs in 95 balls), and India U19 wicketkeeper Aravelly Avanish (10 runs in 18 balls) in the first semi-final match of the 2024 U19 World against the Indians, but unfortunately, Maphaka?s efforts went in vain as the Uday Saharan-led team emerged victorious by two wickets.

In addition to Kwena Maphaka, India U19 captain Uday Saharan and high-performing All-Rounder Musheen Khan are the top contenders for the Player of the Tournament award. Boys in Blue skipper Uday Saharan played a brilliant knock of 81 runs against South Africa in the first semi-final of the 2024 Under-19 World Cup and was awarded the Man of the Match award as his knock helped the Indians eliminate South Africa from the tournament and allowed the Boys in Blue to advance to the final of the 2024 Under-19 World Cup. Uday has overtaken teammate Musheer Khan in the list of the highest run getters in this year?s tournament, with 389 runs next to his name in six innings, which include three fifties and one century, at a brilliant average of 64.83.

He has also managed to pick up six wickets at an outstanding economy of 3.32 and has caught the eye of everyone with his brilliant all-round abilities.

The wait for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to be over. The tournament will begin on 19th February, and the final will take place on 9th March. The India team, no doubt, will be one of the hot favourites to win the tournament, which will be played in a hybrid model.

The departure date of India for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 also has been revealed. As per the reports in Times of India, it is learned that the Rohit Sharma-led side will be travelling to Dubai on 15th February. The reports added that more clarity on the same will come in the coming days.

Not only this, it is learned that India also won't be playing any warmup matches ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This is because all the teams will be in Pakistan, and hence, it will be difficult for the International Cricket Council (ICC) to arrange the warmup match. 
The reports added that India team management is happy with the net session ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This is because they will be playing the three-match ODI series against England, which will begin on 6th February across three venues in India. 
Apart from this, it is reported that the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 won't be having a captain photoshoot because of the different challenges along with the different arrivals of the team. This means that Rohit Sharma won't be travelling to Pakistan for this and will be staying in Dubai with the team. 
The opening ceremony of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be held in Lahore. There were talks of having the event in Karachi but the Pakistan Cricket Board decided to host it in Lahore.

Virat Kohli’s return to the Ranji Trophy after more than a decade has ignited immense excitement among cricket fans, drawing fresh attention to India’s premier domestic tournament. Virat Kohli’s played his last match  in 2012, that was named in Delhi’s starting XI for their clash against Railways.
According to ANI sports  reports Vipul Kashyap, more than 15,000 fans showed up to see Kohli playing in a Ranji Trophy match after 12 year . That  momentous was return after 12 years for cricket fans. The crowd erupted in excitement the moment Kohli stepped onto the field with his teammates. The roar of the fans was deafening, a testament to their admiration for the former India captain. Kohli acknowledged their love, expressing his gratitude with a warm gesture to there fans.
Virat Kohli last played in the Ranji Trophy when Delhi still had former players like Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag. In that match against Uttar Pradesh, he scored 57 runs across two innings, falling to Bhuvneshwar Kumar both times.
Kohli has featured in 23 Ranji matches between 2006  to 2012 debut against Tamil Nadu, scoring 1,574 runs at an impressive average of 50.77, including five centuries. His highest score—173—came against Bengal. A stellar 2009-10 season earned him a Test call-up, and in 2011, he made his debut in whites against the West Indies. 
Reports says that Virat Kohli’s plays more domestic tournament matches to do practice for future matchs and inspire young generation as well. In future we see more such matchs and India top player's to plays such a match in domestic ground.
