Australia vs India T20I series: The Australian Pacer, Mitchell Starc after learning about his family?s issues pulled out of the remainder of the T20I series against India. The speedster got to know about his family?s illness on Saturday after the first T20I and later he pulled out citing the issue of Family Illness.



Starc looked out of touch in the previous One Day International series against India but returned with 2 crucial wickets in the first T20I game, announcing his arrival.



The 30 years old cricketer suffered a rib niggle in the final ODI and was rested but later started training after getting fit. However, on Saturday he pulled out of the series. Mitchell Starc to miss the final two T20Is due to Family illness.



Australian management supports his decision to stay back with his family in important times and backed him.



?There is nothing more important than the family in this world and in this case Mitch is no exception,? Justin Langer in a statement.

Australia and India are all set to play its second and third T20I on Sunday and Tuesday.



<h2>Injuries Concern for Australia:</h2>



However, the historic Border Gavaskar Trophy will begin on 17th December at Adelaide but the participation of the speedster is yet not confirmed.



The Australian side is currently dealing with a spate of injuries. David Warner was already ruled out of the whole white ball series after a groin injury in the second ODI. Ashton Agar is also ruled out of the series. Pat Cummins is given rest from the white ball fixtures to manage the workload.



Australian Skipper after picking up a niggle on his hip is under black clouds for his appearance.



All rounder Marcus Stoinis is also not featuring after sustaining side injury during the first ODI.

The all-rounder Cameron Green was also sent for a medical examination after being hit by Jasprit Bumrah?s straight drive into the head. The incident took place in the second practice match against India A in Sydney.



When asked about the preparations for the test game against India, Hazlewood told me there is nothing to do right now, everyone is going through the same thing, so it?s a pretty usual one.



Hazlewood has dismissed skipper Kohli for the fourth consecutive time in ODIs in 2020.



?I have got some luck last time in the ODIs. A little bit to take into the next format but its usually a fresh start. Virat is a destructive batsman and scored some runs in the past.?



?It is important to get him early, once he gets the initial start then he can be crazy for the opposition. I have got him twice in a test game so hope to do that again,? he added.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021: Australian senior seamer Mitchell Starc opt out of the Indian Premier League yet another time. Starc as per the reports has not registered for the auctions that are slated for 18th February 2021. Along with Aussie pacer, England?s test skipper Joe Root also opt-out of the Indian Premier League.



Both the players were reported to focus on their games and prepare for the upcoming World Test Championship and World T20I Cup.



However, Bangladesh?s all-rounder Shakib-al Hasan along with 1096 other players has registered for the fourteenth edition of Indian Premier League. All these players will head to the IPL auctions along with the released players.

As many as 814 domestic players have shown their interest in the auctions while 283 overseas cricketers have also registered. In the overseas slot, West Indies gave the maximum entries - 51- for the IPL auctions.



Mitchell Starc yet another time opted out of the T20 extravaganza while test skipper of England Joe Root did the same. Tom Banton along with Harry Gurney also didn?t show interest in playing the T20 League.

ICC Player of the Month nominee announced for December 2021: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Saturday announced the three nominees for the ICC Player of the Month award for December 2021. The list includes young Indian batsman Mayank Agarwal for his brilliant exploits in the month of December.

Agarwal featured in two test matches in the month of December 2021 and scored 276 runs. The cricketer scored two half-centuries and also smacked a century. Agarwal was also adjudged as the ?Player of the Match? in the second test match against New Zealand held in Mumbai?s Wankhede Stadium.



Moreover, in the ongoing test series against South Africa, Mayank Agarwal has scored 113 runs in two matches at a good average of 28.25.

New Zealand spinner Ajaz Patel has been a special mention in the ICC Player of the Month award. Patel breached a rare feat of picking up all ten wickets in a Test inning.



He achieved that against India in the Mumbai test. He picked a 10-wickets haul in the first innings while four wickets in the second innings to inscribe his name in the history books.

Mitchell Starc to make IPL return after a long break of seven years: Australian all-format pacer Mitchell Starc is completing his return to the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) following years of reluctance to feature in the lucrative tournament. Starc has now a responsibility to create a balance between his international career and the IPL.



In his recent conversation, Starc informed that he is considering filling the form for the IPL 2022 Mega auction, scheduled to be held on 12th and 13th February in Bangalore.&nbsp;



The ace speedster said that IPL is certainly on cards and he wants to feature in the best T20 tournament.



?It`s [IPL] certainly on the table regardless of what the schedule has got coming up.?



"I`ve got two days to get my paperwork in, so that might be something to do today before training. I`ve not put my name down just yet, but I`ve got a couple more days to decide on that,? cricket.com.au quoted Starc as saying.



Mitchell Starc has featured in just two IPL seasons despite being the best in the business over the last few years. He donned Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) jersey during IPL 2014 and 2015.



For RCB, Starc scalped 34 wickets in 27 matches at a good economy of 7.16 and strike rate of 17. The all format pacer has opted to take the IPL window as his rest time to just go off from the field of cricket and spend time with his family.



The decision seems more sensible since Starc?s wife, Alyssa Healy, is also a professional cricketer and remains away from her family for a large portion of the year. The IPL window seems to be the perfect time for the couple to spend time together.

"I haven`t been for six years or so. Obviously, with a heavy weighting towards T20s over the last period of time and the World Cup coming up later this year, that`s one to take into consideration as well. There`s a bit going on with scheduling and what-not to get our heads around, certainly for us multi-format players," he added.



Australia is scheduled with a packed cricket in the year 2022. The Aussies have been fixed to play a home series against New Zealand following the ongoing Ashes 2021-22. They will then play against Sri Lanka in February. Following the series against Sri Lanka, Australia is then scheduled to visit Pakistan for an all-format series.



Right after Australia?s Pakistan tour, the IPL 2022 will begin and it will be extended until June due to the expansion of the tournament. Each franchise will be scheduled to play 18 league stage games followed by the playoffs.



So, there is a lot of cricket planned from Australia?s perspective. Starc will be active in all these aforementioned tours and series. He is the key pacer for Australia and will have to manage his workload efficiently if he opts to feature in the IPL 2022.

In his recent conversation with ESPNcricinfo, Root indicated his arrival in the IPL, if the tournament doesn?t distract him from the test cricket.



It is noteworthy that Joe Root, who is considered as one of the modern-day greats, is yet to don the IPL jersey. He opted to feature in the cash-rich league back in IPL 2018, however, not even a single franchise showed interest in his services.



"Time is ticking but I have a lot to weigh up. Will it have a negative impact on me playing Test cricket? If I don't think so then I will put myself in the auction. But I will never do anything that will detract from playing Test cricket for England. It's so important to make sure that is the priority for me and other players as well,? said Joe Root, according to ESPNcricinfo.



Notably, Root has expressed his desire to play in the competitive IPL a couple of times earlier as well, however, in the end, he has always opted against entering the IPL auction as somehow the IPL hampered his test cricket aspirations, which is his utmost priority.



Joe Root is also targeting the Tata IPL 2022 as it will further encourage his chances of getting a slot in England's T20I side for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. The Englishmen last featured in a T20I fixture back in 2019 against Pakistan.

Australian senior paceman Mitchell Starc, after winning his maiden Allan Border medal following a roaring performance in the recently concluded Ashes, opened up on the rough phase in his cricketing career. The speedster, at times, thought of giving up playing the game due to poor form.



Starc disclosed that he wanted to stop playing the game of cricket in the past two years due to a thin phase in his career. However, the seamer kept his cricket running despite a gloomy show against India in the home test series.



The Aussie pacer was recently crowned with the Allen Border medal, the highest honour from Cricket Australia, for his sublime bowling performance against England in the recently held Ashes, which Australia won by 4-0.



"The last two years, as life is at the moment, there's a lot of ups and downs. You find ways to adapt and what not, but it's a reflection of the support base I have had throughout those two years as well,? told the pacer as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

Despite a low phase, Starc kept playing the highest level cricket. He opened up that his support pillars stuck by him and kept him motivated. The pacer specially mentioned his wife, Alyssa Healy, who is also a professional cricketer for Australia, for being his biggest support throughout the pale phase.



?There have certainly been times when I haven't played my best cricket or certainly times over those two years where I didn't want to play any cricket. I'm very thankful for my support networks and in particular Alyssa, to play cricket at the highest level [and] be there to support me as well, I can't thank her enough for that,? he added.



"It goes back to the work you do behind the scenes and the work you put in with strength and conditioning and time spent with physios and what not. A huge thanks to the support staff, particularly [Australian Men's] physio David Beakley to keep me on the park for five Test matches and keep me on the park for five and let me play five," he further added.



Starc was heavily criticised for his below-par performance against India in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The pacer could only manage to pick 11 wickets at an average of 40.72. Moreover, his outing in the T20 World Cup 2021 also remained average.?



However, Mitchell Starc did all the talking with his bowling and gave a befitting reply to his critics. He thrived in the Ashes 2021-22, where he scalped 19 wickets at an average of 25.37.



"I went through periods years ago where seeing any criticism or different opinions was almost a bit of a spur for me to stick it up to them, but a couple of years ago I made that decision to get away from it all. Think that's helped me stay really level between some really good stuff and not so good stuff and not let it affect me at all," Starc further said.

England?s Test skipper Joe Root was eying his IPL appearance in the fifteenth edition of the tournament, however, his team?s humiliating performance in the Ashes 2021-22 forced the skipper to focus on test cricket.



The cricketer earlier revealed that he was confirmed to take part in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, but to focus on England?s test side following the dismal performance, he has pulled out of the IPL.



Root has come under scrutiny after England?s loss in the Ashes. Though he played brilliantly with the willow, his captaincy hasn?t pleased many pundits, who have asked him to step down from the position.

Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Sam Curran has opted out of the IPL 2022 owing to his shares of injuries. While playing in the second phase of the IPL 2021, Curran complained of some back issues.



The later scans revealed that the southpaw has sustained a stress fracture and will have to miss a few tournaments to recuperate well. Owing to the injury, Curran was omitted from England?s Ashes squad.
