<h2>Lack of Inspiration:&nbsp;</h2>



Lack of inspiration is one of the biggest reasons why Pakistani fast bowling is on the decline. We have seen Wasim and Waqar getting inspired by Imran Khan. Imran Khan groomed these pacers before leaving the international circuit. Wasim and Waqar groomed players like Asif, Amir, and Shoaib before leaving. &nbsp;



But did Asif and Amir carry on the legacy? I?m not talking about their unfortunate incident in England. Every player makes mistakes and they did that as well. But they should have at least been keen on giving their skills to younger pacers. Maybe make academies in the local areas of Pakistan. &nbsp;



<h2>Lack of Scouting has Cost Pakistani Fast Bowlers:&nbsp;</h2>



Earlier, the Pakistani coaches had an eye for good players. Shoaib Akhtar was picked from the grounds of Rawalpindi. Earlier they had an elite scouting system. Rashid Latif was once in charge of the academy which worked on grooming these young pacers. The MRF Pace Foundation also needs to have a vast expanse in the small towns of Pakistan. The MRF organization is a Chennai-based organization. India and Pakistan have their differences but for the growth of the sport, they need to keep these differences aside. &nbsp;



<h2>Injury management has Costs Pakistani Fast Bowlers:&nbsp;</h2>



In India, the NCA has introduced strong plans for the rehabilitation of injured players. The NCA has worked especially on injury-prone players like Hardik Pandya and Deepak Chahar. A similar structure can be introduced by the PCB. The PCB management is working on such a world-class system or world-class academy under the supervision of Ramiz Raja. Hasan Ali, Mohammad Irfan, and Mohammad Abbas are players who could have had longer careers if their injuries could be managed. &nbsp;



During the World Cup of 2003, Shoaib Akhtar was having pain in his knees. The Pakistani physio during those days made sure that Shoaib plays the game against India in full bloom. These are characters whose contributions go unnoticed. Such characters, help in making legends. &nbsp;

"Bowling to Babar or a tailender is same for me," says Mohammad Amir ahead of their clash in PSL 8: The buzz surrounding a highly anticipated matchup with Babar Azam has been downplayed by pacer Mohammad Amir ahead of their clash in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). On Tuesday, Amir's Karachi Kings will play Babar's Peshawar Zalmi.



Babar Azam has been traded to Peshawar Zalmi this year from Karachi Kings for Shoaib Malik and straightforward is now the new captain of Peshawar Zalmi. Currently, Babar Azam vs Mohammad Amir is the most hyped or trending topic in PSL 8. Imad Wasim is the new captain of Karachi Kings and Imad and co. are scheduled to face off against Babar Azam-led Peshawar Zalmi on 14 February.



Talking to a local channel, Mohammad Amir made some statements that have added up some more spice to the 'Babar vs Amir' showdown. In a PSL special program by ARYnews, Amir was asked, how he sees the inclusion of Shoaib Malik in the team in the trade for Babar Azam. He quickly replied that "Shoaib bhai is one of the most experienced players in T20I and I can release such 3 players to get Shoaib bhai in."

The reporter asked next about the trends in social media of rivalry between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings, Amir said, "PSL is all about rivalries. Previously it was Lahore-Karachi, now it is Karachi-Peshawar. And these kinds of matchups and player rivalries, keep players on their toes. I personally like these sorts of challenges because it keeps me focused.?



The reporter then said, "when Virat Kohli was at his peak, the world acknowledged him that time, and you were still able to take his wicket every time you face him. Now world acknowledges Babar Azam, what are your plans now?"



Amir responded "I don't have any such match-ups against anyone. For me, bowling to Babar and a tailender is the same. My job is to take wickets and win matches for my team, so for me, facing Babar or a tailender batting at number 10 will be the same.?

IPL 2024: Pakistan bowler Mohammad Amir to play in the IPL 2024, "if there is opportunity": Former Pakistani World Cup-winning bowler, Mohammad Amir says he has plans to play and feature in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in India. His statement has come after three years of international retirement for Pakistan.



Notably, Pakistani players are restricted to play in the Tata IPL due to the long-standing political issues between the two countries. The only IPL season Pakistan played was in 2008 when the league started in India. Since then, the BCCI have banned Pakistan from the gala tournament.



Meanwhile, Mohammad Amir, who took his international retirement in 2020, is living in the UK with his family for about three years and is now set to get citizenship of the European nation in 2024. Since Amir will no longer be a citizen of Pakistan after getting his British citizenship, he automatically becomes eligible to play in the IPL.



In his latest interview with ARY news, Mohammad Amir said his chances of playing for England's national side are nil as he has played for Pakistan, but he kept the IPL doors open for himself.



"First, I will not play for England. I have played for Pakistan. Second (talking of IPL), there is one more year to go. What will be the scenario at that time....I always say that I go step by step. We don't know what will happen tomorrow and I start thinking about playing IPL in 2024,"?said Amir.



He further mentioned that he will explore the best options for himself upon getting UK citizenship in 2024. 



"When I get my passport ...whatever the best opportunity will be and what I will get...I will avail it,"?added Amir.



Should Amir successfully get the British passport and register for IPL 2024 and subsequently get picked by one of the 10 franchises, he will get himself into the elite list of Pakistani players, who have had the taste of ever competitive Indian Premier League.



Notably, Azhar Mahmood, the former Pakistan all-rounder, did manage to play in the IPL even after BCCI's call to ban Pakistan citizens from the league after 2008. All this could happen because Mahmood received his UK Passport, which effectively made him eligible for IPL participation.



Azhar was picked by Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) during the IPL 2012 auction for a handsome check of $200,000. He was retained by the franchise in the next season as well following his encouraging performance in the IPL 2012, which saw him pick 14 wickets and score 186 runs.



Touted as one of the best pacers Pakistan ever produced, Mohammad Amir was going from strength to strength until he was caught involved in a spot-fixing scandal in 2011. The apex cricket body then banned Amir and others involved for five years from playing international cricket. He made his return to cricket in 2016, but couldn't get his shine back. 



Ultimately, he announced his test retirement in 2019 and then dropped a bombshell to bid adieu from international cricket citing mental torture in 2020. As things stand, Mohammad Amir continues to give his services in various cricket leagues across the globe.

In an important development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the list of 29 national players, who will take part in the training camp sponsored by the PCB. The Pakistan National camps are set to begin on March 26 in Abbottabad. The training camp is expected to be held at the Pakistan's Military Academy in Kakul. 



Considering the importance of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and USA, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have decided to tighten up the fitness standards of their national players. 



The list of 29 players for the training camp includes all the big names in Pakistan's current T20I squad along with some retired cricketers. The likes of Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi will be present alongside pacer Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim, who had hung their boots a while ago.



Interestingly, Imad Wasim took retirement from all forms of international cricket on November 24, 2023, while Mohammad Amir bid adieu to international cricket back in 2020. However, both the players have now reversed their decisions and made themselves available for the <a href="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/icc-new-rule-in-while-ball-cricket-start-from-t20-world-cup/" data-type="post" data-id="127741">T20 World Cup 2024</a> selection for Pakistan.



Amir, recently, took part in the PSL 2024 which turned out to be a modest outing for him. The left-arm pacer returned with just 10 wickets in nine matches at a slightly expensive economy of 8.41 for Quetta Gladiators.

Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson and former Caribbean star performer Darren Sammy have rejected the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) proposal for coaching roles in their national sides. The two were approached by the PCB, a little while ago, but things didn't turn out fruitful for them.



The talks with Shane Watson accelerated to the advanced stages, but things didn't work out eventually, Reportedly, the Aussie wasn't pleased with the discussions getting leaked. Also, he had multiple commitments, including IPL commentary and in Major League Cricket, which eventually pushed him to deny the lucrative offer.

On Tuesday, 9th April, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced their official 17 member squad for the upcoming New Zealand T20i series. The Pakistan vs New Zealand five match T20i series is set to commence from 18th April.



The Men in Green will host New Zealand for a five match T20 International Series from 18th April. The first three T20i?s will be played at Rawalpindi?s Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on 18th, 20th and 21st April. The two sides will then travel to the Gaddafi Stadium of Lahore for the remaining two games.



Babar Azam has once again been reappointed as the captain of Pakistan in all the white ball formats and is set to lead the Shaheens in the T20i series against New Zealand and he will be handling the leadership duties in the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup as well.



Fast Bowler Mohammad Amir has made his much awaited return to the National squad of Pakistan after a gap of four years. He last played for the Shaheens way back in August 2020.&nbsp;



Along with Amir, spin bowling All - Rounder Imad Wasim who came out of retirement recently has been picked in the squad for the New Zealand series as well.



Fast bowler Haris Rauf, who was recently reinstated in the central contract list of Pakistan Cricket, is not a part of the squad for the New Zealand series as he has not recovered completely from the shoulder injury which he suffered during PSL 2024.

Winning the toss, Pakistan again opted to bowl first. It was a partial-clear sky and near-perfect playing conditions, unlike the first T20I which was washed away without a result. 



New Zealand got good first and second overs with Tim Seifert taking on Shaheen and Naseem but Shaheen sent him back in his 7th ball of the game. Mohammad Amir was handed the new ball replacing Naseem Shah and he picked up his first ball wicket in his comeback to the international cricket team of Pakistan. A slower one outside off and Robinson couldn't read it and found his dismissal. 



Amir, then, sent <a href="https://www.cricbuzz.com/profiles/11197/dean-foxcroft">Dean Foxcroft</a> back in his second over and it was like a dream spell when you are making such a comeback to the international arena. New Zealand lost three in the powerplay in just 36 runs.

The bowler's Carnage didn't stop as the debutant also picked up two wickets in the 9th over of the innings and Pakistan were in the driving seat. Mark Chapman scored 19 runs and that was the highest individual score from the New Zealand side.



Shaheen Afridi dismissed Cole McConchie who is known for big hits but it was not meant to be his night but it was for Afridi. Shadab also picked up a couple of wickets down the order and New Zealand were stunned at just 90 runs in 18.1 overs.

PAK vs NZ 2nd T20I Match Highlights: Babar Azam led Pakistan defeated Michael Bracewell?s New Zealand in a thrilling one sided game by seven wickets with 47 balls to spare in the second T20 International of the five match series at Rawalpindi's Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Pakistan's Wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan, who became the quickest player to score 3,000 runs in the shortest format of the game, played a key role for his side as he top scored for the Shaheens with his inning of 45 runs and once again proved why he is regarded as one of the most important players for the Pakistani Men?s National Cricket team



Chasing a low total of 91 runs, the home side were handed a blow in the very first over of their inning as opening batsman Saim Ayib got dismissed on the second delivery of the inning for?just?four?runs.



Post the dismissal of Ayub, Mohammad Rizwan walked out to bat at number three and was hoping to build a partnership with Babar (14 runs) at the other end but the skipper didn't stay at the crease for a long time as he had to walk back to the pavilion thanks to a magical delivery by Michael Bracewell.



Following the dismissal of Babar Azam, Usman Khan, who recently switched his Cricket board from the UAE to Pakistan, was knocked over by leg spinner Ish Sodhi for a mere seven runs. However, Usman?s wicket was the last one to fall as the duo of Irfan Khan Niazi and Mohammad Rizwan helped Pakistan get over the line against?the?Kiwis

The two batsmen got involved in a partnership of 36 runs as Irfan contributed 18 runs with the bat while Rizwan remained unbeaten at 45 runs. The Men in Green now lead the five match T20i series 1-0 after the first game was washed out due to rain.



Earlier in the New Zealand inning, the home side?s bowling unit looked in some really good form as they bowled out the entire Black Caps team for a total of just 90 runs in 18.1 overs



The Kiwis were never in the game as they faced a lot of difficulties against the seam bowling unit of?the?Shaheens.



In the third over of the New Zealand inning, Pakistan's former T20i skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi, known for extracting a good amount of movement with the new ball, sent Kiwi opener Tim Seifert back to the dugout as he scored just 12 runs.

Mohammad Amir from the other end, who was playing his first International game for Pakistan after a gap of almost four years, dismissed the other opener Tim Robinson for just four runs in his first over. The 29 year old continued to increase difficulties for the visitors as he dismissed Dean Foxcroft in his second over as captain Babar Azam took?a?simple?catch.



The visitors managed to prevent further dismissals till the next two overs of their inning but spinner Abrar Ahmed took two scalps in quick fashion in the ninth over, dismissing the likes of Jimmy Neesham (one run) and Mark Chapman (19 runs).



Naseem Shah and Shadab Khan applied the finishing touches as the Black Caps got bundled out for 90 runs. Just four Kiwi batters managed to score double digit runs as the home side dominated the game with the ball.



Shaheen Shah Afridi dismissed three batters, while the likes of Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Amir and Shadab Khan picked two wickets each. Naseem Shah managed to dismiss just a&nbsp;single&nbsp;batter.

His selections consist of a balanced mixture of emerging youngsters and experienced players, forming a well balanced team with an equal amount of bowling and batting strength.



Bhogle?s squad consists of the likes of skipper Babar Azam and wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan, two key players in the batting unit of the Shaheens. Australia has suffered a massive blow ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. As per the reports in ESPNCricinfo, it is learned that captain Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood are all set to be ruled out of the tournament, which will begin on 19th February. 
Pat Cummins suffered an ankle injury during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 and missed the ongoing Test tour to injury due to the same and also the birth of his second child. The fast bowler since then has been out of action and hasn't resumed any kind of bowling. 
Pat Cummins hasn't gained his full fitness and it is highly likely that he will be missing the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This will be a massive blow as not only will they miss the quality bowler but also the captain, who took them to win the ICC World Cup 2023. 
In the absence of Pat Cummins, Australia is likely to give the leadership role to either Travis Head or Steve Smith. The latter has been leading the team in the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka, and under his leadership, Australia won the first game of the series by a massive margin. 
The development was confirmed by Australia head coach Andrew McDonald, saying that Pat Cummins is highly likely to be unavailable. He also talked about giving leadership roles to Steve Smith and Travis Head. Speaking to SEN, he said:
"Pat Cummins hasn't been able to resume any type of bowling so he's heavily unlikely, so that would mean that we do need a captain. Steve Smith and Travis Head are the two that we've been having conversations with while we've been building out that Champions Trophy team along with Pat back home. Apart from Pat Cummins, star pacer Josh Hazlewood also is expected to be ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The fast bowler is battling with a hip issue, which he faced in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He, too, hasn't bowled since then and is against time to recover.

<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohammed_Shami">Mohammed Shami </a>has had a decent T20 return with 3 wickets across 2 games played and is considered one of the greatest ODI bowlers for India of all time. Especially in the absence of legendary pacer Bumrah, Shami is the most experienced pacer to lead the Indian pace attack. 
 
Ever since the 2023 Cricket World Cup, Shami will play his first one-day international match, supposedly at the Vidarbha Stadium tomorrow. Ahead of the vital clash, Mohammed Shami will enter the field with 195 wickets to his name in the longest limited-overs format.

Shami, the Indian fast bowler, began his journey from the T20 Trophy starring for Bengal back in 2010, where he had one of the best debuts ever. Shami played for several franchises in the IPL the Delhi Daredevils, Punjab Kings, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kolkata_Knight_Riders">Kolkata Knight Riders</a>, and Gujarat Titans, where he picked 127 career wickets in the franchise-level cricket tournament. 
 
Shami has played over three World Cups for India ever since his debut in 2013, as he has been India’s highest wicket-taker in the history of the CWC, playing over three editions in 2015, 2019 and 2023. With 450+ career wickets in the Men in Blue’s jersey, Shami, despite participation in several WTC and CWC games, could never be seen on the podium, though he won several individual records, the last being named the Player of the Tournament in the 2023 World Cup.

The current Indian selection committee head,<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ajit_Agarkar"> Ajit Agarkar</a>, picked the fastest 200 wickets for India as the veteran pacer achieved the feat in just 133 games and ended his career with 288 wickets in the format. 
 
So far, only 7 Indian bowlers have crossed the 200-wicket mark; Anil Kumble and Javagal Srinath have picked over 300+ ODI wickets, while Zaheer Khan, Agarkar, Harbhajan Singh, Kapil Dev, and Ravindra Jadeja have also picked over 200 wickets for the Men in Blue.

In what promises to be an exciting and thrilling contest, Steve Smith-led Australia and Dhananjaya de Silva's Sri Lanka are set to lock horns versus each other in the second and the last match of the two-match Test-Series at the Galle International Stadium of Galle from the 6th of February onwards (Wednesday). 
In the opening encounter of the series, the Mighty Aussies secured a comfortable victory by an inning and 242 runs and this win helped them to take an unassailable lead of 1-0 in the two-match series. In such a situation, the Dhananjaya de Silva-led Sri Lanka would be looking to make a strong comeback by rectifying their mistakes in the second match.
